reading plugs
If I am reading the plugs on a non projected tip plug and my timing mark only goes halfway of the ground strap and the fuel ring is good on a 150 shot could I go up to a 220 shot without changing the timing.382 ls1 10.9 comp pump gas in main tank and 117nitrous sunoco in stand alone.wide band at 11-11.3

Yeah dude ^^^^These guys need to see the plugs to see more what you are talking about. They just can't go on your description. They are not asking to be dicks, but because they know what they are talking about.

Sorry, I cant help without pics, id be shooting from the hip.
But from judging from what you want to do, I would take timing out of it, and creep it back in if you can.
Also depending on what plug you were running you may need to go a step colder.

From your description, it sounds like it's fat. If it looks like what you ar saying then I would pull 1 to 1 /12 degrees of timing and lean it out then check them again and report back with us.

Nobody you know has a digital camera to take the pics with? Where are you located?

I will take some pics of the plugs after I go to track next tues . I appreciate the advice so far.I threw the old ones away except one and it has been in a bucket of junk now its all dirty so it wouldnt do justice to the way the plug looked when it came out of the motor.

If i pulled those plugs out of my car first i would know its to rich. the timming mark is close but the rich condition is probably masking to much timming.
Id pull 5-10% fuel/hp out of the fuel jet and pull 2 degrees for the next pass. What is your jets and fuel pressure? that will give us a better shot at a jet recomendation.
If its the standard 150 shot ~.062 and .032 fuel . Go down on the fuel jet to .030(or .02 from where your at w/60 psi fuel pressure), take 2 degrees out post the new plugs and also et slip for both runs. once you have the plugs right at 150 it is much safer to go up and your jet spread will stay basically the same. if you just go up on the nitrous side to lean it out its going to move the timing to much.

If it were mine i would pull 2 degrees out of it and lean it out a bit. If you are running a low pressure setup then pull 1/4 lb out of it and see if they clean up a little more. They are not "bad" by any means but they could stand to be a little cleaner. Just remember that when you lean it out, pull timing too.
If you have a bunch of jets then you can put a smaller fuel jet in it and accomplish the same thing. Just remember that the smaller the jet, the easier it is to get clogged.
Post up the jetting, timing, and fuel pressure, it will make it easier to give you advice.

Pull fuel and timing like Shiz said.
Next time write what cyl. each plug came out of on them, we need to see number 7&8.
Also looks like you have some oil getting into the combustion chamber.

Witch pic are you seeing signs of oil getting in the chamber? My eyes aren't that great but they looked to be pretty clean to me...
I agree, number the plugs next time.
