Default Walk me through a nitrous

Can someone walk me through a nitrous run step by step. From the burnout all the way until you get back to the timeslip. I'm interested in all the things if any that have to be done to the system before, after and during the run. As a side note and please excuse my ignorance by why purge an nitrous system at the line? I hear people say that the heated gas isn't as powerful? Would that kinda be a good thing, like a poor mans progressive system? Thanks for the feedback.

1. I do my burnout.

2. I pull up right before the lights, put the car in neutral, arm the nitrous, hold the throttle at 3500 rpms and press the purge button.

3. Put the car back in 1st gear and stage with my finger on the transbrake.

4. Make my pass.

5. Immediatelty after the run I dis-arm the nitrous.

6. Get back to the pits and turn off the bottle and refill after every single pass.

Copy and paste that into your N20 drag racers handbook. If it's from Big Mike, its verbal GOLD.

That would be the correct way to do it if you are purging into the motor. If you are externally purging it you can skip the put it in Neutral part.

What's the benefit of purging into the motor vs. externally?

I think its more of a preference thing. You can't see/hear soemone purge if you purge into the motor and some people say it feels "crisper" when they purge into the motor.

Oh yes you can. Watch this video of my car. After I do my burnout watch me purge through the motor. You'll see what I'm talking about.

When you purge through the motor you are purging with fuel also. So when my foot is on the throttle (3500rpms) and I hit the purge button, both fuel and nitrous are being dumped into the cylinder. This is typical of car with big shot of nitrous. When you purge externally you are only purging the nitrous.

Well god damn.. If you're spraying a 250+ hit, then yeah.. purging through the motor is noticable..
