Default Wet plate on high mileage ls1

Is it safe to run a 75-100 wet plate on an engine with 70k miles? Instincts tell me not to risk it but it seems people are running 150 shots on stock internals and it's just fine.

get a good kit with all the safety stuff and tune it right and you will be fine,Ive seen people with 100,000 more miles than you spray more than that

that being said there is always a risk but I doubt you will hav a problem done properly

70,000 is low miles. I have 239,000 on my 6.0 and made 10 or so 100 shot runs at the track. plenty of guys have 100-150 shot on well over 100,000 mi ls1s. No promise it won't blow up but you should be plenty safe!

Default I think you're good

I don't even see 70,000 as a high mileage car!
I have a 99 z-28 with 103,000 now, had a wet shot for over 2 years now, probably 30 passes, no problems. My car only has a cat back and lid other than the spray. took me from 13.95@ around 100 to 12.5 at 115! I think the kit was installed around 90,000 miles. It's a NX kit, have always run a 150 shot other than the first 2 runs that were at 100. Definitely get all the safety equipment with it, but you should be A-OK!

Guess 70k is decent then lol thought it was a lot of miles. How are u running your kit, traction is an issue at the launch for me because my track blows. I don't know much bout juice and when to Use it. Think I'm going with the wet plate kit from nitrous outlet, but still need to shop around.

You'll be fine. If you're overly concerned, run a leakdown and compression test to get an idea of the shape the motors in.

I see a couple of answers indicating ( using "ALL" the right safety equipment)
What would that include?

RPM window switch controller, WOT TPS activation switch, Timing Retard device, a Fuel pressure or Lean shutoff switch, and correct spark plugs.... etc.... and a proper tune

70,000 miles is honestly just getting that engine broke in well.

IT sounds more complicated that it really is. Many, and I would say most, people don't run a fuel pressure cut off switch. They are more of a pain in the *** then they are worth.
A window switch is your choice. Many people run them so you aren't spaying through shifts or don't want to spay off the line. Great idea if you want more controll over your system and want it to be consistant.
One thing you want for sure is a WOT switch.

Does the Nitrous Kits come with WOT switch, where would you buy a window switch and how much do they cost ? Thanks.

Just get N20 outlets controler has a tps activation and window switch.
http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/catalog...=26&section=84

Get a wideband gauge that has a sensor.
I would also go ahead and replace your stock fuel pump intank.
Dave will get you going in the right direction.

spray that thing and never look back. As long as you've done the above mentioned precautions you shouldn't have any issues. Spray it and enjoy it.

Allright so does running a wot switch mean when I'm at the track I punch it and it goes or can u set it to go when you want. I lose a lot of my time after the 1/8 so I'd like to spray there and see how it works out. My buddy had a wot switch on his diesel propane injection and every time he floored it he sprayed, same concept?

I would point you in the direction of the stickies in the top of the Nitrous section. You need to do a ton of reading before you dive into this. Then call nitrous outlet or harris speedworks to get them to pc you together a kit.

Well WOT switch can only detect wide open throttle. It has no clue what RPM's are at or anything of that nature.

For your application, if you're looking to only spray after the 1/8th, use the time delays or gear lockout features on the MicroEDGE controller. This will allow the nitrous to only be sprayed when you want it to without you trying to fumble around and use push buttons or trying to prevent the WOT switch from activating prior to the 1/8. And for the price, you won't find anything that even comes close to comparing to it.

Nick
