Default Nitrous problems today during dyno tune

threw it on the dyno today for a nitrous tune...well, first pull 517rwhp on a 100 shot....but one problem...the fuel solonoid wasnt working! We tried a second, same thing...shut down super quick.

2 hours into it, I retraced all the wiring, everything was correct. The fuel solonoid was wired the same as the nitrous, which the nitrous obviously worked. Well, I ended up taking the fuel solonoid off and hitting the bottom with a hammer...wire tested it on the battery and it worked...so we wired everything up and prayed for a pull where the solonoid was just stuck shut...well, it worked but theres a problem...

The car goes REALLY lean as soon as the nitrous hits but then makes its way to a 12.2 afr once the fuel seem's to catch up to the nitrous....what could cause this? My tuner said to throw a little bigger fuel jet in the one side and shorten up the fuel side lines and possibly I need a walbro 255? Im spraying a 100 and thats as high as i will go. What are your guys throughts???

bottle pressure was around 900 all these pulls.

so, how do I make it that the car gets fuel and nitrous at the same time? car is a hsw 78mm plate setup with the NOS powershot kit and microedge controller.

why didn't you pull the line off after the solenoid and close the bottle then do a pull just to see if it was working

we did this...and it was working. fuel is just getting to the plate later then the nitrous but its still getting there....I want to know how to even this up.

Post the dyno graph.
A lean spike on activation is very common when pulling fuel off your fuel rail, and has been discussed a ton in the past. By seeing th dyno graph you can tell if its a nusence or a real problem.

how much line is between the bottle and solenoid, then also the solenoid and the jet? lengthening the distance can slow the hit down.

my setup is a little different then this old pic I have (has correct purge fitting) but the lines and solonoids are still the same...

as far as the line from the bottle to the nitrous solonoid, it was the basic line that comes with any NOS kit.

Since you have a microedge, there is an option to adjust for lean spike. Remember, nitrous is at a minimum 900psi while fuel is only at something like 50psi.

I can't seem to copy off the instructions for the microedge.

Initial Delay for State 2 (grey wire) while in gear 1. Can be used to correct an already present lean spike by using stage 1 for the fuel solenoid and stage 2 for the N20 solenoid and adding a slight delay to trigger 2.

wow I didnt think of this! I dont have stage 2 hooked up right now....

so, now my questions is this...

How Would I wire up this 2 stage (grey) wire without adding another relay and arming switch for one solonoid? is there a way to wire it into the current one stage setup?

i definetely think you have maxed out your stock fuel pump. put a 255 in it. the bigger pump can flow more volume and will help with the pressure drop when the fuel solenoid opens. it takes a few seconds to for your stock pump to catch back up with the fuel rails draining so fast.

Exactly get a 255 , standalone or a return style setup . You will prob still get a leanspike with just a new 255 pump but not nearly as bad .With a standalone it will be perfect from start to end and can spray as much as you want with it and can up the shot without worrying about not having enough fuel. Also a little fyi alot of cars that do a standalone that had the issue with the leanspike will see lower hp/tq numbers than before becouse of that huge spike is missing where it peaks real fast before it levels out. Atleast that is what i have noticed from a bunch of cars around here including mine.

I would shorten your Fuel line after the fuel noid. It appears from the picture that it is longer than the nitrous one. That can cause a lean spike.
