Default best kit for 2005 GTO

I am doing some research on what nitrous kit to purchase. I have a LS2 GTO wih arh headers/mids and magnaflow mufflers. Im currently looking to add a nitrous set-up. I have heard great things about the nano kit as well as the nitro daves kits as well as HSW. Im looking for a 10# plate kit. Any users or sponser feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

The best system is really up to you and your personal car.

What are the future goals of the car? Forced induction? Built motor?

Wanting some show factor? Or maybe a a little more stealth for your " competition's of speed on paved road ways"

There are many different options on the market when it comes to system styles and brands.

Im obviously partial so Ill let you decide what Brand is best for you. Keep in mind you will need knowledgable customer and tech service after the sale as well.

Is exhaust you only MOd at the time?
What are your future goals with the car?
How much are you looking to spray?
What are your tuning capabilities?

current mods: long tubes and full exhaust, Cold air Intake, tune
Future mods: Heads/Cam?fast 102

I am looking to spray a 150 shot for now. Brand is not really all that important to me as long as the kit is reliable. Would like whatever kit I go with to be compatible with the nano system. Also would prefer plate kit over a nozzle system. I dont plan on pushing more than a 150 shot. I also would like to buy the whole kit from one place.

thanks for your responses so far, please keep them coming.

i would get a dry kit, spray post MAF and a HSW interface. this is the most reliable setup and not too pricey.

personally i would look into NX or daves dry kits and pick up a used HSW interface.

I would rather run a MAF plate then.

http://www.nitrousexpress.com/produc...ils.php?id=763

This would allow you to switch over to a Different size throttle body if you wish. (Such as a 102/102 setup) It also has integrated solenoids which Look very clean and also make install very simple.

This will spray up too 200hp so will still give you some room to grow if you decide to spray more than the sub 150 size shots you have planned now.

This is a wet system, very easy to tune with the stock pcm and hpt or efilive.

Besides online forum support, we also offer a discount. If you are interested or have more questions please feel free to pm or give me a call.

Personally I would never spray without a wideband, but with this style dry setup a wideband is a MUST

yeah i agree, the interface needs at least a wideband to be tuned.

in the event of electronic failure of the interface, it will not energize the solenoid.

Well that too, but a wideband could save a motor if something strange were to happen during a run and you caught it. It is a nice tool to run all the time anyway.

I don't run nitrous anymore but IF I WAS GOING TO AGAIN I would get the NOS Noszle Kit (were the bung goes under the injector or plum the intake per cylinder) but they cost I think around $1,200.00 for the kit and you will have to make sure you have the fuel system that can support it. The problem I have seen and had happen to me is when you spray nitrous and fuel into the intakes (wet kits) the fuel has and will puddle up into the intake and backfire and mess the throttle body up, bust intake and more than likely mess COMPLETE MOTOR UP. I had it happen to me 5 1/2 years ago, cost me $6,000.00 and a lot of work changing the motor out of my car, cracked 3 sleeves in factory block, blew back, bottom and lower front of 3 week ould LS6 intake, melted MAF and bent throttle body blade. ONLY way I would is if I was direct port and had it on a button instead of micro switch. NOT TRYING TO TALK YOU OUT OF NITROUS just BE CAREFUL and GOOD LUCK on you decision.

That I agree with. I have one on my car. I just always like to emphasize that it does not replace looking at the plugs.

In a nutshell...

The timing mark on the electrode, the fuel "ring" on the porcelain, signs of detonation, if you have the correct heat range plug, etc

The plugs are the only way to safely tune a nitrous motor.
