Default Safe to run an N/A tune on a 75 wet shot?

Hello all,

I am going to change my setup over from a cam only 150 shot to a heads/same cam/ and unknown NO2 shot. Also going to add a bottle heater.

I will not be running the spray until I can swap out the fuel pump and injectors.

I don't want to have to alter the tune, or change the plugs.

Would a 75 shot be OK? What about 100?

Thanks guys.

Were you on tune before with the 150?

A fuel pump is the best idea. Since you are running a wet shot you most likely won't need injectors.

If you put heads on the car you are going to want to get it tuned again to maximize the power output with the addition of the heads. How would it sound to put heads on your car and only gain 9 rwhp? It could possibly happen without a tune. I don't know what plugs you are running but you are going to want to put some br6ef's in the car for a 75-100 shot but step up to br7ef if anymore than that. Get a timing tuner from Nitrous Outlet if you don't have one already and just pull timing accordingly to how much you are spraying (2* for every 50hp shot).

You have two options

1. Running BR7EF will help if you don't want to pull timing

2. Use timing retard unit from LPE or any vendor on here
Any time you need to spray pull some timing without going to your tuner

What plugs were you running with the 150 shot?
I am going to guess they were probably br7's which will be fine.
Stock timing will also be fine on a 75 shot.
You still have the stock A4 trans?
Man. Can't believe its held up with the hp/tq you are putting down!

I would get a new tune. Not worth the risk.

You can get away with colder plugs and good gas with a 75 shot. But I would just drop the timing 2 degrees and do a 100 shot. Get #7s ngk non proj plugs and run 92 or 93 gas

Dumb question im sure, do you just do the plugs once or keep switching them out?

I Change mine everytime I go to the track and bring extra sets on a 100 shot your fine I would just get the tune on and read the plugs then when that is done. Then you could leave a set in. I would switch them out for a daily driver every Cpl months if you spraying then you want to switch them out more.

You dont have to. It really helps the car run better and when you race you may nip a plug. If you are driving it and not spraying just leave the set in there.

OK Guys:

So I used to run the NGK Iridium Plugs with the old set-up (150 wet shot).

I have to send my computer overseas to get it re-tuned, so I am not going to keep sending it over to CA just to swap the tunes from N/A to Spray.

I want to run a small shot so that I don't need to change anything except maybe the plugs.

I will be getting a re-tune for the new heads/stall/trans, but it will be an N/A tune. I haven't sprayed the car once in the past 3 years so I am not going to set it up for spray only to suffer when it comes to daily driving.

I want it to run as strong as possible on an N/A tune, but run a small shot in case I need it.

It help up through 2 bottles. LOL.

Buy the timing tuner from Nitrous Outlet and you can run your N/A tune off the bottle and when you hit the button it will activate the timing tuner to pull timing while on the bottle. Hit it with a 150 shot and pull a minimum of 6* . You will have a smile from ear to ear Just make sure your fuel system is up to par.

Tune aside, you need a fuel pump and rewire/hotwire....

But yeah, just get a tune.
