Default Spraying For the First Time 2morro!!

Car is at a good friend/mechanics house as i type getting the rest of the kit finished.

99 Camaro Z28
Lid
!AIR and !EGR
LS6 Intake
Ported Maf
QTP Longtubes
QTP ORY
Mufflex 4inch Catback

Trans:
30K mile Rebuild
Trans Go Shift Kit
Corvette Servos
Basic improvement rebuild
Stock Convertor

Nitrous:
NX 78mm Plate Kit
Iceman Purge
WOT switch
Fuel Pressure Safety Switch
MSD Digital Window Switch

Starting with a 75 jet gonna make some runs and read the plugs. If all is good goin 100.. Then stopping until i get get it on a dyno with A/F readings and a timing tuner.

Hoping to make some good numbers on the dyno with a 100.

Any input

I would get a tune first or is it tuned.
What is your timing at.?
Did you replace the fuel pump?
What plugs are you running? And dont tell me TR6S you need the ngk #7s non proj.
What fuel are you going to run?

Asking for trouble without a tune, my kit was 3 jet sizes off the recommended chart from the manufacturer. If I wasnt on the dyno monitoring a/f then i would have been runnign way lean the whole time. Do yourself a favor and wait till you get a tune. The jet sizes they put on the kit are suggestions, not 100% guarantee.

Now, everyone is different, and will say different stuff. But i had had a very close to same setup as you, but was running a much bigger stall, 3k yank, and then 3500 TCI. I started out on a 100 shot on tr6's 'now 7s', and the last time i sprayed was a 125. I was on a basic bolt on tune, but with stock timing, I ran about 10 bottle of the 100, and 5 of the 125 shot. Still doing fine, and i havnt sprayed in about 8k miles..

You should be fine, even on a 100. Bottle pressure around 950-1000.

Key word always, is should..

So based on your sig you have about 6k in mods invested and couldnt spring for a retune? Braver man then me.

400 dollar tune> 4000 dollar motor

This is why nitrous gets such a bad rep.

If your not going to pull any timing I would run it empty at fill it with race fuel. It MAY be a little more forgiving on a bad tune then.

Spray it and enjoy, you will be fine with a 75 shot

Dunno why everybody is freaking out about not getting a tune first with a bolt-on car running a 75 hit lol.

As you said in your first post, check your plugs etc..

Thought a 100 shot could be done with just tr6s, window switch and maybe some race gas for insurance? People are talking about tune, This means to adjust fuel and timing parameters via HP tuners for example or just slap the car on the dyno to see the A/F and ensure any part goes lean?

Maybe pull a few degrees witha Harris interface?

Br7ef's for the win.

Also has the car been tuned before? What kind of gas can you get at the pump?

When did NX make a 78mm plate?

That was before all the bigger mods.. I did it, was fine. Worked great for me, so how is that a bad rep?

People just take short cuts some times. Also some people just jump on a bandwagon as well as to what is ok or not.

Let's just make sure your motor is safe. Can you answer the questions I posted? I am happy to double check and make sure its all sound.

Fueling changes on a wet system are done via jetting or pressure. The only tuning adjustment for a wet system done through pcm tuning is going to be timing. A few car's will lower or raise shift points and a few things to really dial in the car but primarily timing.

Now the dyno, is nice for a few things in the tuning process. But thats another topic.

The Harris interface is an option. I personally do not like using the interface, but lots of guys have great success with it. As always, more than one opinion and more than one are right.

I tend to K.I.S.S and conservative. But again, that's opinion.

Didnt get to spray today after all.. but shooting for tomorrow

93 octane is avalible where i live
Car is 100% untuned.. No smoke, No spits, No sputters, No backfires, Nothing.. Runs perfect gets over 20mpg hwy

Suspension is
SFC
LCA with relocaton brackets
Panhard Rod
No front Sway bar
3.42 gears and street tires

And at the moment i do not have money for a tune.. thats why its staying at 75.. Ive talked to a few local tuners for prices and will it happen soon

Im pretty confident in my guy its not his first go around with Spray hes had a few
A SBC Monte Carlo hitting well past a 250
and currently sprays a 150shot on a stock bottom LT1 runs consistent 7.1X 1/8 mile has a 6.9X 1/8 mile pass on a 175jet stock bottom LT

As long as we read the plugs hes 100% confindent itll be fine on 75 with no tune..

Basically he plans to do this
Spray once and pull plugs
repeat, repeat, repeat.. LOL.

Basically hes gonna pull em alot gets hit thro the first bottle to make sure its not rich or lean and periodically thereafter.. 1 bad sign either way its put on hold

I have also spoken with NX sponsered Ryan Hargett in person a few times and he as well said i could go Stock timing up to a 100 shot with out problem with reading plugs but anymore and pull timing.
