Default NX switch panel and NX bottle heater problem....

Well we got most of the stuff wired up....but we have the panel wired to an always on source so its running off the battery, but you still have to turn on the switch to activate the system...

The purge will activate no matter what... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

And the NX bottle heater I got, the fitting that goes on the solenoid will not fit on to the end of my TNT bottle...any ideas??

Thanks,
Bos

Im assuming that as soon as you arm the system the purge is opening? I am not familiar with the NX switches but maybe they have a normally open and a normally closed position. If this is true you can test it by arming the system and then push the purge switch and it should stop purging. If so switch the contacts on the back of the switch from NC to NO. But this is just a shot in the dark.

The fittings that wont fit? What size ans style are they. -4AN maybe or npt?

I had the same problem with my NX bottle pressure transduser w/fitting. I had it screwed into a NOS fitting and upon removal, It stripped the NX fitting. I think their tread cuts are a little too tight.

Try running a tap threw the threads. I did, & changed the fitting off the bottle, that I believe caused it to strip in the first place.

The car can be off and the system won't even be activated, but I can still purge...

Its not that bad is it?

All the NX switch does is complete the circuit to the purge solenoid so it will activate. So if you have the hot wire to the NX switch and that is an "always on" hot then you will be able to purge with the car and the system being off.

Does this make sense? or am I too tired <img border="0" alt="[boring]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_zzz.gif" />

See... why must you go so complex? a nice home brew switch panel works fine for me <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
