How 'bout a home made bottle heater?
This may sound crazy, but has anyone ever used a heating pad that you can buy at Wal Mart as a bottle heater? You could just buy a cheap converter and plug it in (or if you want to run it long term you could wire the converter into the cars electrical sysytem and noone would ever know. Just wondering if anyone has tried this. I don't feel like dropping over $100 on a real one until I am sure I really like the juice.
Somebody give me some input. Oh and btw, I already know it is ghetto, I just want to know if it would work.

Give it a shot and see what it does. I dont think it will work though, I dont think there is enough heat output on the heating element itself. and if it did, it might take a while to get the bottle to pressure....if it ever got there. Just watch your bottle pressure....just in case

Anyone know what temps a real bottle heater puts out and what temp the bottle needs to be for optimal pressure. I think anything would be better than my current method of sticking it out in the sun

I paid about 150 bucks for a power converter for my telescope. So the cost would not be a savings. But as a side note the heating pad would make it a little warmer, not much although. Having the proper temp/bottle pressure is key to good nitrous fun. I've run with out a heater and it sucks. When your up to temp you got torque!

I did exactly that. It was sort of ghetto, but I needed the pressure:
In February with temps down in the 30s outside my full bottle showed about 600 psi. I was going to the track, so I let it sit in hot water for a few minutes to get it warm, then used a heating pad / AC adapter to keep it there throughout the morning. The heating pad was very slow and pressure wouldn't go above 950, but that was better than 600.

I would take a water bed heater, or a heating blanket, and wrap it around it several times and turn the heat up all the way. Mine get's to hot to touch. Don't know if it would be any better than the heating pad, but the extra layers might help. Just my .02 worth.
