Default NOS sportsman fogger on ls1

I wanted to know if anyone is running a regular NOS fogger on there ls1's becuase i plan on doing it. I think i remember Linginfilter had an artical in Hot Rod Mag when the first ls1's came out in 97 and he got 11's with out any other mods. The thing is, I want to run a direct port and I dont want to spend over a $1000 for one. A plane sportsman fogger only runs $635 in Jegs. I know that this kit is desinged for carb's but I plan on running a seperate fuel system anyways. I just dont see any difference in spending the money for the TNT to get a 250 shot when a direct port fogger will be safer on the internals and the same price. any thoughs?

Cobrakilla....A negative review of a product is fine on this board if youve had those experiances. However, just saying a product "sucks nuts" is not going to cut it. Please be specific in the future if youre going to "bash".

yea i have seen that kit and tried to install it on cobrakilla's car and had many problems. it looks badass and i am sure that it works awsome but it is just to much to install. i tryied to install that kit and found out that you have to drill and tap every single hole on the fuel rail and they give you a shitty tap. also the N2O and fuel orfices are so close together that the lines are very hard to put on once drilled. this is too much for the $1200 plus $200+ for profesinal installation (which is a must unless you got a drill press, measureing equipmet and machinest taps, and experiance with this kit). i would consider it if it was less money, if the rail already was drilled for a LS1, and if it could be installed with basic hand tools. the problem with me is that i tend to do every thing to my car myself and i dont like anyone to touch or tune if for me. also, i dont have very much money, i got a wife and 2 kids, i can bearly afford the car payment, and i am adicted to acceleration. none of this really goes together, so i look at my options and i find out the cheapest way to go fast. right now the NOS fogger will cost me $800 less and i have already installed one on my carburated car with out any problems in the past so i now i can install if on this car. thanks for the offer.

A direct port is a tough install. If you choose that route, dont expect it to be easy. When you put that 1200+ down for the professional install, you get what you payfor. It doesnt "suck Nuts" you just didnt have the tools to take on such a project.

If you did, and you feel that way, take it up with NX. I dont think that any company would be on the look out to make suck nut products. BOth TNT and NX are reputable companies IMO, and I have still not decided who is going to get my DP business.

Are you sure NX sucks nuts? It must of been your install work.

I like the TNT direct port system better than the NX system. For any thing else. I would rather have NX.

I have a NX dual MAF plate system. It hits hard!!!
It's better than the TNT F-kits. The TNT F1 & F2 have the Power Ring. It was the best thing out, untill NX built the nitrous MAF housing. The MAF kit install, looks cleaner, fits better, and you don't have to cut your lid. Just for info, NX and TNT use the same solenoids.

blackdeath,
that's good option, if you have the gumption to do the full install yourself, then that is an excellent option and will work fine, and does not necessarily require that you use a separate fuel system. If you choose to use the existing fuel system, simply adjust jet sizes to the accomodate the increased fuel pressure. A very large portion of the cost in the 'pre-made' systems is the labor involved in bending the tubing, etc.

You would like to keep the path as clear as possible, hence ported ends and not add to the mess. maybe that is not a good idea after all. i will have to figure out something else to activate it. maybe a hiddin switch under the dash.

sorry guys i didnt mean to stir up some controversy.like black death said, that direct was too complicated to install, and it did not help any with the one page "universal install process" instructions.my sons 1st grade homework comes with more instructions than the NX supplied info.i knew i was in for a real challenge when i opened the box and i was short 2 npt fittings. from there things only got worse with a faulty fuel regulator that i had to send back only to recieve the same p.o.s regulator that was supposed to be "fixed".i had this kit for about 2 1/2 months without ever getting it to work.i called NX several times and they passed me around like a joint to different techs.finally i just got tired of all the b.s and returned the kit and i was promised by NX that i would recieve full credit since it was a lemon.a week later i was only given credit for 80% of the cost of the broke *** nitrous kit.i think me and black death ls1 did an damn good job with the limited resources we had,it was just that NX came up short on quality and service.and thats why i switched to TNT.so i hope you understand why i am so disappointed with NX,after all i was a die hard NX fan but i was let down.mabye later i will give em another chance,as for now TNT has got my money.

Cobra Killa,
Im sorry you had a bad expirence through NX.Yes I agree there instructions need some help. They are actually working on that now.As for the problems you were haveing.I really dont think they had anything to do with the kit.I remember trying to help you on the phone. You were having fuel pressure problems before there regulater right. If that is the case you will have the same problems with the TNT kit.My memory is a little vague.I hope you have better luck this time.Sorry it didnt work out.
Dave
