Default Nitrous Express NXL kit at MMT on Saturday

If anybody would like to take a close up look at Nitrous Express's new NXL Nozzle System I will have the system on my car at the grand opening of Sean's Modern Musclecar Technology this Saturday. I plan on being there early.

NXL Nozzle System
Nitrous Express introduces the NXL nozzle with Integrated Rail Technology. This plug-and-play, direct-port nozzle system is availabe for all four and eight cylinder applications. There is no drilling required, no engine disassembly and no solenoids to mount. The entire nitrous system is self-contained in the high-flow fuel rail.

The kit is still under developement but should be available very soon. My car is being used as a test mule is why I have the system on my car. I will get some pics up in a day or so. I have heard that pricing will be in the $1200 to $1500 range but that is not official.

If you run a 200 or larger shot, there may be a need to run a stand alone fuel system. With the fuel and nitrous solenoids mounted to the fuel rails, is there a way to do this?

My guess would be that you wouldn't be able to do that. However I believe the system is designed to handle a 300 shot. I'll ask this afternoon and find out. I'm leaving for Dallas in a few hours so it may be Sunday before I can post their answer.

Damn it! I just got off the phone with an "NX Tech" and they told me you can't do it. He fumbled alot and hesitated with answers so I don't know how sure he was either. I asked how they could spray a 300-400 shot and not run a dedicated fuel system and he said it was not designed to be a high horsepower kit and it was more for a clean installation. I guess I'll just have to wait for the thing to come out.

Are you kidding me no dedicated fuel system? That's half the cool part of running a direct port system!!

I can't see this kit doing well if it's not possible to run a seperate fuel system. I mean if I'm going to flop down for a direct port kit, more than likely I'm going to want to go BIG! Going big means BIG fuel or better fuel, which is MUCH easier to do with a low presure dedicated system.

*shrugs* Who knows the clean installation fact may draw a bunch of people in. . .

I talk to mike an we are doing a dedicated fuel system on the new NXL system. I will still have to run my stock fuel rail to feed the injectors. They will be sending me rails with out the injector holes in them. Every thing else you see will be as you see it on there site. Mounting will be be on top of the factory rails. I have already started setting up the fuel system and tank in the place where the battery was. For all that want to know its not safe to run a 300 shot of nitrous wiht out big fuel volume and lines. What happens when you hit that much is a large pressure drop apon activation. This causes a momentary lean spike. It may be possable to use the digital controler to slowly add the nitros so not to spike the fuel system. You will still need to have a high volume pump. I could not go this way because I am running a 422. Its more cost effective to go with a seprate fuel system. Its also an advantage to be able to put C16 in the little tank. The limited use will not harm the O2 sensors. The controller will be use so not to kill the tires and the engine. I will be setting it up on 150 on initial and add in the 300 a second or so later. Yes I question mike and the guys a month ago and they were unsure what to say accept go wiht a seporate system.

We weren't able to get the unit installed friday as we were missing a fitting. I have the SEMA show display unit on an LS6 intake sitting on my dining room table. You are welcome to come by Sunday and check it out if you haven't already seen it. My home phone is 692-4891 and my name is John. I would enjoy meeting you.

I have been reading up on the various forums and different threads for the NXL. My question is this: I want to run a 300shot, controlled from a base of about 75 at the line. Can I just swap out my fuel pump for say a Walbro 340m, and get the required fuel from that? Everyone I have talked to in the field says yes, anyone here have input? Also, using this system with a compatible pump / or dedicated fule system, what is the largest shot I can spray using a progressive controller on the stock assembly-safe of course, but I want ot be able to spray on here and there for competition, normally I should pnly be spraying I think 200. Is 300 to much to ask for?

TIA, Charlie.

They were the anodized green rails, but they will be in black when manufactured. We were told 2 months before its released.

We wouldn't mind testing it out on our C5 shop car when the new engine is done, if NX was interested. Our old 346 LS1 went 10.50 @ 138mph on a TNT 150 with a lazy 60' (1.65, we have since done a 1.45 60' which would have been at least a 10.30)
