Spraying a 4.56 bolt-on LS1 :)
Any ideas what driveability will be like on a bolt on LS1 M6 (~315ish rwhp) with 4.56 gears?
Looking to start with a 75hp dry shot.
Car also has 315mm Nitto drag radials for what it is worth.
BTW, this is not on my car, it's a friend's bolt on ride...

Keep in mind he'll only have bolt ons and spray - he knows not to plan on hooking up in 1st or 2nd but what about 3rd?
If he sprays above 3k rpms in 3rd what will that be 70mph or so?
With Nitto 315 DR's he's hoping to be able to hook in 3rd but if not that's cool <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Tell him to forget the 315s and buy some ET streets 26x10.5x16 or 26x11.5x16 and drive on those. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Why is he trying to use 4.56's on a stock camed car. Hes gona run out of gear well before he crosses the finish line, even more if he spins. Ask someone with 4.56's what rpm theire motor is spinning when there at the end on the 1/4, I can promise you that its gona be 6800+.

FWIW, with 4.56's and stock sized 26" tires he can spin to 110mph or so @ 6500rpm, so if he wanted an N/A pass it would just about make it...

He wants to run thoes gears on the street and call it daily fun <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> , I can see the fun untill he adds up how much he spends on gas in one month. <img border="0" alt="[bang head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" />

<img border="0" alt="[jester]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_jest.gif" /> 4.56 and spray on the street! No way will Drag radials hold that. I can spin my Et streets on the street easily in my SS with 414rwhp and 4.10s.
