Default Adding vp instead of timing retard

Thinking of adding a 100 dry shot.. My Mods are in sig... Question is could I add a few gallons of vp instead of taking 2-4 degrees of timing out?

Not sure where your timing is at, but i'd pull a few degrees just to be safe.

^You need to find out.

One of the many mistakes people make is NOT taking enough timing out, even with race fuel.

Like HCI2000 said, pull timing regardless.

These LS motors don't like a lot of timing on the spray.

If I didn't know where my timing was at, I'd spend my money on a lingenfelter box and just pull timing then work my timing back in, instead of buying a scanner to find out where it is

The reason you need to pull timing is because Nitrous burns the fuel faster, not because of octane required.

Higher octane slows the burn rate down.

True, but aren't you one of the big proponents of low timing and cold plugs?

Yes, and good gas.
You will need all 3 when you get serious.

I wasnt saying he should just add high octane fuel instead of pulling timing.

It's always best to pull timing and tune back into it from there to be safe. It will definitely help with not having to pull as much timing.

I have the same cam you do and had it dyno tuned for nitrous recently. We set my timing to 22*. check my mods in sig. Run a wet system, its well worth it.
