Default More Nitrous Woes

Made some shakedown runs with a borrowed kit last night. The car feels VERY strong in first, but starts surging in second and falls flat in third. This was on about a 125ish shot. I'm going to pull the stock platinum plugs today and try some NGK's and race fuel to see if that makes the problem subside. Anyone else have any ideas?

70Stang, this is a dry kit. Pretty much as the NX Incognito setup except with a better solenoid and a 2.5lb bottle. Bottle was filled right before the pass.

A 125 shot on a 2.5# bottle is gonna drop pressure very fast. That's probably one reason it fell on it's face shortly after launch.

Thats right. They are not desighned for that big of a shot on a full quarter mile pass. The pressure will drop very quickly.

Yup plugs and the bottle. Not a good idea at all. Do it right or risk damage.

A 100 Shot of Nitrous uses about .067 lb per Second, so on a 12-13 sec pass it would use almost a full pound of nitrous, I think that bottle is just too small to keep the pressure up during a pass.

Either do it with the right stuff or dont use it at all! 10 lb bottle at least is a must for a car.

I hear you just have to have the bottle upside down for good pressure? Any truth to that?

bottle upside down or not wont affect PSI. If your bottle is siphonless you will have to mount the bottle upside down. Otherwise, you will be getting nitrous vapors basically,,, not 100% nitrous by any means.

- Do they even make heaters for the mini me bottles?

yep....they're called propane torches... (not that i would ever actually use a torch to warm a bottle...but a lot of people do it.)

This post is back from the dead. Turns out I had a plug with a completely blown ground strap.......... Ooops! The car has since run a 12.50@117 on this setup! LOL! A deuce bottle is good enough to keep me ahead of almost anyone. Oh, and for anyone concerned about pressure woes, I picked up 27mph in the 2nd 1/8th!
