General rule of thumb says no more than 15 seconds at a time. Cylinder temps go through the roof. You could run a small shot, say a 50, for longer.

It also likes to freeze up the noids. I would go no longer then 20 seconds even with small shots. 15 would be a good rule too.

...until my thumb gets sore, almost like when playing Playstation.

Realistically, follow what is suggested. If you're only racing 1/4 mile and you have an F-body, your car shouldn't be on the track for more than 13 seconds anyway.

I have a somewhat related question. If you have a window switch on an A4 set at 3000-6000 just for an example, does it spray 3000-6000 in every gear or just your 1st gear?

it will spray regardless of gear you are in. as long as the motor is in that rpm range, it will be on.

Yes it is a good idea to do it like that. The last thing you want a stock 4l60e doing is spraying through shifts.

well i meant more like is it normal to spray in 1st 2nd 3rd gear etc...i mean 1st gear is already hard enough to keep traction, it must be impossible with nitrous spraying. i always figured it was only sprayed at the last gear...but ive never run a nitrous setup before

you can buy a window swtich like mine, it has a built in 1st gear lockout..its rpm activated. You launch in first and the juice will not kick on until you hit second and then work as a normal window switch..when you get done making a run you tap the brake and it resets the unit and your ready to go,you can also turn it off.

Where did you get your switch at?? I'm considering nitrous right now and need any and all safety stuff when I go that way.

Yes it is normal to spray in all gears. Some people with traction issuses dont spray right out of the hole. Some run a delay box (time delay) to get you moving before it hit's. Others run a progressive shot. Start out small then step up as you go. Others have a button you just push when you want it to spray, and the list goes on.
Cheap bastards like me just spray right out of the hole and all the way down the track then hope it all holds togther. LOL
