Default 200 shot stock

Will a stock Ls6 motor take a 200 shot? Of course, I plan on reducing the timing and upping the fuel, cold plugs, br8ef or br7ef. I have the fuel for it. Currently on an E45 mix. Looking to get into the 6s in the 1/8th.

Thanks!!!

The max I would safely reccommend, on a stock ls1 shortblock is in the 500 to 525 rwhp range. This, can be achieved by spraying a stock motor, cam only motor, heads and cam motor, anyway you get there, this would be a safe power level. ONce you start getting above this power level, the reliability is going to start falling, more you add, more it falls. This power level, is going to require a GOOD tune, and CHECKING PLUGS ON A VERY REGULAR BASIS. Adding race fuel into the equation will certainly make it safer, as it will help aoid the detonation that is the #1 stock piston killer.
Id say your pushing the limits and if it were me id go into thinking that engine repairs/rebuild will be in the future, if that's your style then go for it. A true 150 shot is more then you think, but 8th mile is a different game then 1/4 mile.

I hope a 200 will be ok, because I'm getting mine set up with a 250. In all seriousness, it's all in the tune. Any amount over 150 and you really increase your chance of failure.

Have you sprayed the car at all yet? How is the tune on the car now?

Its been done. I'm at 250 right now for the third year. One guy was spraying 400 on an SBE LS6. Exotic fuel and single digit timing according to him.
The whole setup matters. A plate setup wont work quite the way a direct port setup will in terms of having a safe tuneup. I'd get with your kit manufacturer and they can likely get you close.

What is the timing at now on the 150? Sounds like you know what your doing...it's all about the timing.
I'm at 15* peak torque and 18.5 all in,150 shot on a SBE 6.0. Every motor is different. Just start conservative on the timing and she'll live a happy life.

Agreed. Sstay away from a plate setup for any serious amount of juice.

I'm a tad more that that at peak torque. Running E45 helps with that.

It's a Facebook page. Someone posted and asked about spraying a 200 on a stock ls6. Lots of morons responded and turned it into quite the comical relief

That site is full of morons and whiners. So sick of the repeated trap door, what size tire, etc. I'm gonna unfollow because it clutters my FB page with ignorance and annoyance.

Facebook? Ignorance? Annoyance?

I'm surprised to hear people are running such high shots. I guess if it's done right that's all that matters.

That was me if you’re talking about the picture of the time slip lol. It really got out of hand. Still never got any real solid answers. That’s why I’m here now looking for info haha.

I spray a .88 jet. Which is 250. Stock bottom. Just make sure tune up is on point
