Default spraying thru shift on a 4l60e.. please help quick

i have a tnt 150 shot , rebuilt 4l60e trans with new planetarys sun gears ect ect ect race clutches and lots of stuff know nothing about.. anyways new trans works great
with the stock tranny i once tried to sprya thru the shift by bumping my window switch up to like 6200 so it would go well past teh stock shift point.. all it did was bounce of the rev limiter... prolly was the trans slipping... but im afraid of what could have happened if i had stayed in it lol

so my question is with the racing clutches.. shifts a lot harder and quicker now.. do ya'll think its safe to spray on thru the shift?? stock shift point is like 6000 right? so a 6200 top pill would carry me thru the shift?

wanting to run it in about 3 weeks at a local shootout and i need to no if i should even consider trying agian

I try to run about 500rpm difference when using juice, 200 is too quick to sail thru spraying IMO. I would try putting the window switch 200rpm before your shift point and rev limiter 300-500rpm beyond the shift point. You want the juice to shut off BEFORE the shift, and the shift to occur with enough time to avoid the RevLimiter.
I personally dont use a window switch FWIW, I spray out of the hole, thru the shifts and all the way down!

You should lower your shift points when you spray. It will go faster and its a lil safer.

I have my setup on a window switch, it comes on at 3000 and off at 6000. My shift points are set at 6300. I found that it is set perfect for my application. On the hose it will shift at 6500. My rev limiter is at 6600.
FWIW I wouldnt spray through the shifts, Its not worth tearing up the trans for a tenth or two.

IF you want the trans to last don't spray through the shifts. If you want to run faster times spray through the shifts and say who care if the trans grenades. Thats me.

BTW if you have good clutchs set up right you should not be slippin. Mwalls took out the imput shaft on his Zippy built trans on a 2-3 upshift. Everything was holding good no slip there. That was a big heavy silverado SS that goes 12.30's on the juice.

I sprayed the crap out of a stock trans and never had a problem, doesn't mean you won't though.

I have sprayed about 10 bottles worth of 100 shots with a 125 and 150 shot here and there, through the shifts, on a stock tranny other than a shift kit, billet servos and a 3200 Vig. It's still running strong, but for how much longer I don't know.

One piece of advice. Get a drain plug put in your trans pan, and change fluid and filter often. I was doing mine every oil change, and the one time i let it go without the trans change too, is when it lost 3-4 gear, this was after, 600+/- runs w/ umpteen bottles and normally at least 150 or bigger shot, out of the hole every time, in less than 12 months! So I was surprised the trans blew the 3 & 4 gear, hell it took lots of abuse cutting some 1.4 launches too in a full weight DD. 35thSS can atest to that.

Bottom line, is totally safe NO, neither is Nitrous itself. Do what you can afford.
