Default purge before shutting down?

Just installed nx 100 shot kit and was wondering if you should purge the pressure out of the line when you shut down the bottle and the vehicle? Im always worried that the nitrous sylonoid might go bad and if there is a lot of pressure in the line while vehicle sits over night it will let what ever is in the lines seep into the intake and ignite all at once when I start the vehicle up the next day? is that possible?

It's a good idea to do it if the vehicles going to be parked for a few hours or overnight. I never do it and have never had a nitrous solenoid issue but it's still a good idea. I've noticed a few times when shutting the bottle on my way home the line PSI will go 1200+ due to the heat from the engine heating the nitrous line.

I always have my bottle open when im in my vehicle just incase. That means I have to purge it when I get to work and when I get home, seems like it would waste alot just doing that but your right about it being a good idea. I think I will invest in a bottle opener so I dont even have to open the bottle unless im defenatelty gonna use it.

I believe leaving the pressure in the line can shorten the life of your noids also. I would recommend purging down. I do!

i purge it, just so i dont have all that pressure against the solenoid all the time. i dont have a purge kit, so i just loosen the line, let the excess out, and retighten. i really need to invest in a purge

I wish i could say the same, I have a 82 chevy 4x4 with a 383 stroker I had a cheap Snipper kit on it, One day when i sprayed it flooded the n20 sol didnt open and i forgot to turn the bottle off, about 30 min later i went to start the truck and it blew up like someone put c4 in the pan, It turned a 8 Quart pan into about a 20 quart, blew the timming chain cover off breaking the water pump off, blew a set of dyecast valve cover into dust, So i will be turning off and purging ever time now.

ive gone through 2 n20 solenoids from that and i never knew why- then a guy i met at the races on friday night told me that now i purge every time when im get home and never had a problem since. heres a tip i learned from b4 i had a purge solenoid- turn it off around the corner from your house, then hit the nitrous on the way home- it only takes a second to get the n20 out of the line and your set.
