how much for the EGT data loging set up for use with the koks headers....I don't need it now, I am only runing a 200 shot, but later on when I go diret port it could save an expensive motor!
You gonna run 9.20's at 149mph....my guess...

I think these Kook 1 7/8 stepped to 2" with these collectors and the EGT bungs welded in where around $1100. The Red Alert Alltronics 8 EGT datalogger is $999 new. I got a good deal on both by shopping around.
Id be happy with 9.20s at 149

I have no idea what to look for on EGTs. All of the research I have done on the subject has told me there is no set temp point to look for and that all cars will be different depending on location of the probes, and many other variables. SO what the idea behind the 8 EGTs AND the onboard wideband is.......
Begin tuning the car on the dyno with smaller shots keeping an eye first on the wideband to ensure it is the right AF ratio..double check with plug reading. Then ensure that...while the AF ratio is good...all 8 cylinders are matching in thier temps. If one is off bring it in line with the others. Then begin to raise the size shot keeping an eye on the wideband AND the egts. I should be able to gather enough info during this process that I will come up with my own max EGT and will know when something is abnormal on any cylinder.
