Default sprayed 150 shot on 04 GTO tonight, interesting results

I got it all done and sprayed 100 and then 150 shot...
I monitored the 150 shot with EFI Live Professional V6 and found out some interesting stuff...

I have the rpm switch set to shut off at 5900, and it seems to work fine, you can feel the nitrous shut off JUST before the shift...good set point for otherwise stock car...

150 shot with no timing retard hits great, but blew dipstick out of tube and thus got hot oil all over the engine compartment!

I added a Metco valvecover breather to reduce assist with pcv, and it worked! I also monitored KR closely, and found the following...

1 degree timing retard = 3.6 KR (most, ranged from .1 to 3.6)

3 degree timing retard = .6 KR (most, ranged from .1 to .6)

4 degree timing retard = .1 KR

this is in winter time, so I will monitor when it gets hot out again...

I NEVER would have thought it would take 4 degrees of timing retard on a 150 shot on an otherwise stock car (just intank Walboro 340 pump and homemade CAI)...

didn't get a chance to race anyone, but not for lack of trying! Pulls real good and gets up to 120 mph very fast.

This is all on 93 octane gas

I may dyno to check AF ratio, but I am satisfied i have it set up fairly safe right now.

They say about 2 degree's of timing for every 80shot.

Sounds like you have it figured out though, good luck with it! Sounds like its a badass ride.

the OLD rule of thumb is 2 degree per 50, most agree on LS1 cars that you need 0 degree retard on 100-150 shot, and then 1-2 degrees per 50 past that amount.

I have also heard that stock GTO timing is very low/conservative as well, so I didn't think it would take any retard....

hmmm, I'm not familiar with a change in the "timing law". Nitrous companies have ALWAYS rec.'d the same thing reguardless. Take your base timing that you are running at off spray, and retard 1-2 per 50, or 2 per 80, whichever, it comes out to about the same thing anyway.

I have always heard 2x50 as well, but you can run the 150 w/o pulling any timing, doesnt mean its optimal. Bet if you pull 5 or 6* you wont get any KR! Whats the stock timing at WOT off the juice?
My new setup, will have to retard timing of 12-15*, ouch.

I went through my EFI Live logs, and couldn't find the spot for total timing....

will have to go through my logs...it was about half way through 2nd and 3rd gear I think....unless the fuel jetting is a little off, it shouldn't be lean, BUT I will put it on the chassis dyno just to make sure...

What were you're times if this was at a racetrack? If not, what do you think it should run on the 150

no tracks open...I would say 13.8 on motor and low 12's at 115 on 150 shot with nitto's...
