Default How much timing to pull???

You can see the car in sig. I have H/C and 150 shot with everything. T-rex inline fuel pump, 255 walb in-tank, 42lb injects and got fast fuel rails going on this week. So fuel will not be a issue. Right now I believe I have 2-3 degrees pulled. Do I need it pulled. Can I put it back in and be safe for the 150 wet shot!! You can see I run the 90/90 set-up and all. Trying to get the car to run alittle better N/A. I don`t spray all the time so it sorta sucks being tuned for spray like that. Tell me your thoughts, Thanks. My car is in my Sig!

You really need to find out if your on a stock timing table? Stock max timing is around 22*, but tuned, you can run aggressive timing around 33*. If you blow 150shot on 30* you wont like the results as much, so yeah reduce timing as per general rule of thumb.

On a stock tune, generally no timing pull is needed upto 150 shot. Now I would rec a logging session and check for KR, to be sure.

Charlie I think you've got your numbers backwards there. Stock timing is like 28*or something like that.

my car must just be a freak, i have cam+full bolt-on's. Running 26* for the 150 shot. No detonation at all. I had the tuner bump it up to 28* for a NA pull to see if there was any difference in HP ( i was trying to cost justify buying a timing tuner ) and there was none.

Saved me $200 bucks. I wouldn't have benefited from pulling timing from NA to spray.

Shop temp was over 100 degrees that day too. Got to love the :texas: heat.

Elite, not sure, but I have logged several SS, WS6 and some Z-28's and recently all the stock tunes have had somewhere around 22* for g/sec vs rpm in the high octane spark tables, there may be variations sure, but then again since these cars are mostly used could have been "tuned" prior?

Irrelevant since he doesnt know what advance he is seeing at .76 g/sec at WOT, no way to tell whats beyond .76 either. So, first find out where its at, and then go from there. If you dont know someone that can tap into the tune be safe and use something to reduce timing.

I plan on going to G-force next friday to finish my tune. I want to check A/F and all with the new cam in. I`m going to let mike see where we are at and go from there! Needs alittle fine tuning anyway!
