Default testing the FJO at the track

Went back to the track with a 130 shot dry. i wanted to get more like a 200 but i didnt have the lines and fittings and jets to set it up on short notice. So i had to settle for a 130 shot.

I wanted to test the FJO controller and didnt want any trouble on the launch so i had the FJO set at 25% of the 130 shot on launch and ramping to 100% by about 6500 rpm. I just wanted to test it on the first run to see where i was at and then probably bring in all 130 on the following run if the first one was ok on the launch.

So I got in the staging lanes at 830 with the 130 shot at 25%-100% and waited...and waited....and waited. Finally ran at 1040

Soft out of the hole with a 1.41 sixty foot (as expected at 25%) but run a 10.342 @ 129.01

Which is pretty good considering the soft launch. It picked up 2.5 mph ramping in the extra 30 hp of nitrous this time. But the soft launch killed any decent increase in times. But thats what I wanted to see so I could measure the increase and control the FJO has on N2O delivery as related to the launch.

There was no more time to make another pass just having it come on at 100% like I wanted. I think a 10.1 at 130mph would have been possible. the car is making about 460 rwhp right now.

Gotta get the fittings and lines so I can run a real damn shot on this pig.

Drove to and from the track again....55 the whole way

One other thing....fo th guys using the FJO or any progressive in general the % are not linear. 25% is probably closer to 40-50% as measured in HP. The 25% on the FJO is just for the pulse width. So keep that in mind when using it to neck down a large shot. IOW if your running a 300 shot and want only 100 off the line it will likely be set more around 10% on the FJO rather than 33%. You will have to figure that out either at the track or on the dyno. But start lower than you think and work your way up.

very......its extremely usable. We did some dyno testing but I cant get the graphs. The control is very fine...and I used the true ramp features to bring in power to match the converter in RPM mode. I like the RPM based stuff right now because the stock motor is the concern...not traction. I dont even remotley spin off the line.

ET drags..the car wont spin. It would do a backflip before i spun. I am just concerned about maximizing power safely from the stock bottom.

Here is an interesting scenario...do the same sort of test using slippery tires.

LOL...I wasnt the least bit concerned with the guy next to me. This was just T&T. When you leave the line after the green has no impact on your ET. You can sit there for 5 minutes if you like...and still run a 10.3.
Also...I dont have foot response...lol. All I have to do is let go of a button...and Im gone!

Nice run Al. Yea, i have guys saying my reaction time sucks, that is, until they race me then i cut under .100 everytime. t/t is a different story when your dialing in a car, and try to launch a 6-speed the same everytime.

Yes. Main thing is that it's a clean install. I doubt it's any more or less reliable than any other of the fine NX products. Any nitrous system as a power adder to a stock/bolt-on motor is a pretty straight forward and simple deal. It seems to become exponentionally more complicated as the NA power goes up. Mainly because if you can't hook it up traction wise, it does you no good. That's my perception anyway. Food for thought.
