Default What happens if I run low on n2o during a run

Title says it all. If I run my car and don't realize I'm almost empty, will the car run too rich and blow up or stall the car? I am running a wet kit, and just had a "what if" question.

Typically you will feel the power start to fade, then if your all out of Nitrous you could feel the car start to really lose power, by that time you have already lifted as you have noticed that something seemed wrong. As long as your not running like this all the time you should be fine. Over long periods of time you coould start to damage rings...
Just keep the bottle full, its more fun that way

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but I have a question.

I was told to never fill the bottle unless empty. Can't remember why the guy said this, but is there any truth to this?

You can get the bottle filled before it's empty, most users top off the bottle so that it never does go empty.

if you run low during a run down the track, you will just lose a lot of power and will run rich. No big deal, I have activated my nitrous before when the bottle was closed and all it does it go extremely rich and run like crap for a second until i realized that my nitrous arming switch was on.

OK thanks guys! My bottle still weights 20 lbs, so I'm not worried about it. Just wondered what would happen if it got too low/empty.

So the wet shot can cause problems with the rings, huh? Interesting. That is good info, thank you! I would assume because of the really rich condition of the spray.

PS, I wish they had a "fuel gauge" for nitrous bottles, LOL!

On the highjacked part - I found a place that will "top off". But the last place I was going to wouldn't "top off". He would empty out the bottle and refill it. I was wondering if it was for more $$$$$ in his pocket, but I don't know!

Might be worth it! Kinda like another safety device on the N20. I have a dry kit, but my buddy runs a wet, he may need it.

What gauge brand did you see? Where?

Yes, washing the clyinders down with the extra fuel.

That's why I use a thermastatic transducer for my bottle heater (heats bottle to temp rather than pressure). It heats bottle to 95* and when it won't heat past about 900psi, I know I have about 3lbs left and time for refill. also, the dry hits will maintain a/f all the way to empty, whereas the wet hits wont.

Yea, likely a $$ issue. tell the guy if this is what he is going to do, i'll take my buss somewhere else. All the shops around here will top off no problemo.
