n20 with 10 bolt
not sure if this where I should post this(also posted in rear sedction),but here it goes.My car is a stalled cammed a4 putting down 350-355 rwhp and was thinkining of adding a 100 shot to it.How can I keep or preserve the 10 bolt with it.I wont use it from a dig just from a roll 25-30mph then mash the peddle and only use it at the track when i get the 12 bolt in.So can I use the 100 from a roll? How many guys or gals out there use n20 with the 10 bolt and what size shot and total hp.
thanks

Max torque to the rear is 1st gear (duh) so you
might want to hold off spray until you clear the
1-2 shift. On my low-mods car it's not like 1st
has traction to spare anyway.
Some window switches will let you hold off the
shot until the 2nd time you pass min RPM, etc.
But even cooler would be to use the trans control
signals and enable spray only in 2 & 3, say. Relay
logic would be pretty simple. That way you're not
limited to only strip, 0 to XXX type use like with
the "smart" window switches.

Typically traction is your worst enemy. If you use sticky tires the 10 bolt will typically die an early death. One thing we experienced is not all 10 bolts are built the same. Some, for whatever reason, last longer than others. But be assured as you add power and traction the 10 bolts life is limited.

People like Mike Comp T/A are the exception.
All predictions are speculations, as results differ drasticly from car to car. The only safe assumption you can make is that you are on borrowed time!
Generally speaking, what most people said in this thread is true: Sticky tires will kill a 10 Bolt.
I have run mine @ the track with nitrous, but I realize, that I am at the mercy of limited traction. I would not put faith in anything other than a street tire. Odds are, You will NOT brake it IF you run on street tires only. This is even more true if you race from a roll only!
