i currently own a 1994 chevy cavalier . I was hoping someone would know if the block could safely handle a 200 shot wet properly tuned.

I say spray it and watch it blow. I dont think most unbuilt engines respond well to douling the hp with nitrous.

NA SR20 Motors have seen 200shots on stock motors, they use Progressive shots!!

The 3.1 v6 is supposed to be a good motor. Ive seen some pretty qucik ones back in the day. I think a 200 shot though it wouldnt last very long. 100 prob doable with a real safe tune.

...hah this reminds me of a 97 model neon getting hit with a 400 shot. There was a fogger nozzle in each intake runner jetted for a 100 hit. When they hit that shot the intake manifold exploded. It was so loud it was heard almost a mile away at a restaurant.

Simply put, no, it will not last. End of story. I don't want to sound like an ***, but it looks like you have a nice f-body as well as a nice nova., so don't worry about going fast in a cavalier. Take that money and invest it in something worthwhile.

I'd like to see a video also, I say you'll probably break a rod or melt a piston cause the fuel pump won't keep up. Yeah, you'll break a rod.

Remember the guy with the Sunfire video a while back. He was trying to destroy the engine. If I remember correctly he put a brick on the gas pedal and let it bounce the rev limiter for a few minutes. Then he added a 150 shot in front of the throttle body and added propane fuel to supplement the nitrous and continued to let it bounce the rev limiter. The nitrous intake fire melted the throttle body and caused it to run ragged but that didn't stop the brick on the gas pedal from doing its job. The last attempt to kill the beast was to drain the oil and keep old faithful on the gas pedal.

BTDT, and have a bag of pieces to prove it...
We tried a 75 shot on a project car, [actually, a 95 Alero].
We found 2 things:
1.Why did the car pick up 2 secs, when on the juice? 16.4 to 14.3..
2. Even at only a 75 shot, the entire ft side of the block "left town". [This was a VERY low mileage car.]

Bottom line: engine has about the same MTBF as a T/F engine, assembled in highschool shop class
