Digital window switch crazy?

I just installed a MSD digital windows switch. It ALWAYS has some kind of number displayed and it changes along with my rpm, give or take 500-1000. Is this normal?

Yes, they read RPM.X10 when the car is running.

IT seems really innaccurate. I have idle set at 950RPM and it reads between 4-500. Are they all that innaccurate?

dude, you have yours set wrong. does it work?

I havnt sprayed on it yet. I really dont want to if it is misreading RPM. THat could spell disaster. My buddy set it for me when we installed the kit, but he ran thru it an showed me everything and I SWEAR it said 8(for cylinders). Guess Id better double check it.

It needs to be set on 4 cylinder mode...as weird as it sounds.

Well Ill be damned. That makes perfect sense. That is why at idle(about 1K) it reads 500 and at 2000K it reads 1000K. Perfect halves. Thanks alot guys!
