You can probably spray up to around 500hp on a single 15lb bottle. The thing is you will only get a limited amount of passes on it causing you to refill it more often, and the pressure drop during a pass is greater with 1 bottle instead of 2.

I am sure spraying alot of nitrous with a 10lb bottle will cause a very significant pressure drop causing the system to richen up the mixture, ie too much fuel not enough nitrous. I would go with either 2 10 or 2 15 lbs bottle to be safe. Like the above setup.

How much HP a single bottle will handle is going to depend on the valve...

http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/catalog...product_id=354

this valve will flow 2,000hp...a standard valve will only flow 5-800hp

A lot is going to depend on how fast your car is normally and if it is 1/8 or 1/4 mile. I know of a car that run 47's in a fogger on a single 15lb bottle but since it runs high 6's it works fine. Personally I think in most cars anything over about 250hp in a 1/4 mile can see a benefit going from a 10lb bottle to a larger bottle or 2 10lb bottles. A single 15 should do good to about 400hp or so, again the faster the car the higher the HP you can go on a given bottle size. 1/8 mile is very forgiving so you can get away with a lot more before pressure drop becomes an issue but if you are going to be going over 300hp a 15lb bottle would be a good investment. You do want to be careful trying to do large amounts of nitrous on undersized (for the application) bottles because it has been known to cause engine damage from causing things to run too rich in the last few hundred feet of the track. This isn't really a concern though for most mild engines and only becomes a real concern as the horse power and the compression of the engine start to climb.

How about running a 5 lb. bottle on a 150 shot ?
How long would it last without too much pressure drop ( starting with 1000 psi ) ?

Not sure I get the reason for the eye rolling. I merely added that so as not to lead people to unnecessary worry with regard to their car while still conveying the point that proper bottle size for your application can be very important as you become more serious and want to go faster.
