Default timing question

ok on motor the car made 382rwhp with 26 degrees of timing. from 24 degrees the car was responding well to timing so after that pull we tried 27.5 and the car made the same exact power and still didnt ping so we backed it back down to 26 on motor to keep it safe. Since i have 1.5-2 degrees of timing leeway do i need to pull timing on a 150 shot?

i didnt do it on the dyno and it was fine so i was thinking at the track i might add a gallon of 110 just to be safe.

You can run stock timing on a 150 no problem. 26 degrees is close to stock.

it pinged a hair on the dyno im not sure if it was because it was running 10.8:1 a/f because it ran so rich and maybe the fuel was just popping cause it was so rich or what but i guess ill throw in a gallon of 110 to be safe.

thank you though

Did you hear the ping or did you log knock retard on a data logger?

if it pinged on the dyno its def gonna ping at the track. Usually richness prevents detonation..

to a certain point correct? If its too rich wont the gas have a mini "explosion" just like during a nitrous back fire or am i thinking something else.

toss in a little race gas and you'll be fine.
