Talking Whats up with the big dawgs??

Havent seen much info on the big dawgs, whats going on?

i know shiz and atv where close to running again (besides the 100* southern heat)

what about that 408 guy that was going to run 8's?
hasnt happened yet?

no one has updates?

My update is im down for a few more weeks, waiting on a new Head, mine cracked on the side into a water jacket.
AFR is replacing it, said it must have been a air pocket or somthing, said they have never seen it before, nor did i or anyone that saw it.

it started leaking water, i thought maybe i got a head gasket, ripped it all down to find no problem,

hhmmm, maybe warped head, Nope.

hmm, then we found the crack.

afr realy stepped up tho, and they are replacing the head free of charge. <<<<EDIT THIS! AFR isnt replacing the head

once i get it, i will finally get to test the car with the new carb style intake, speed dens tune, and 4:30 gears.

i cant wait. and the weather will be nice and cool

haha, no 300 shot for me.
im jetted now for a 125
when my gears go in with my new intake, im thinking the car should be bottom 9's with a 125 shot.
maybe befor the years end i will hit it with 200-250 and see if she will go in the 8's.

hows the intake look? happy with it?

I guess im a big dog. .... Engine builder has the pistons( came monday) and said ill have the motor next week. I will be racing around 3400lbs instead of 3600 now and plan on a few more HP from the PIMP heads Tony mamo did for me along with porting my vic jr. Im also testing a star vacume pump hopefully it will bring me a few HP also. Id like to click of an 8.5 in october I don't think it will still be the record than but we will see.

I actually just recieved my nitrous system today from UPS

I had the car going early May, but the shop that was dynoing the car had ALOT of issues with detonation and some sensor issues with the BS3 system.....well they ended up pounding the bearings out of it and after 4 passes at the track on motor it spun 2 rod bearings

Its now back together, with an ARE 4 stage drysump, and few other tweaks here and there. The converter is too tight for motor, but it should pick up a ton on spray. I will be back at the track in a few weeks and hopefully be in the 9.0 to 9.20 range on a 150 hit on the plate (It runs good on motor so I wont need a ton of spray.)

Hopefully by the end of the year it will be in the upper 8's if I can get everything to work right.....

I hope I get out this year too. My car is currantly with Steven Faraday in Houston, TX at LMR. The car went 9.2 @ 149mph last year on a 300 fogger with stock ported heads, 408ci, .580 lift HDY cam, and 10.5.1 comp.

I had the WHOLE motor redone. Its a 414ci, .40 Wiesco, 12.5.1 comp, TFS CNC 225's heads, .649 lift HDY cam, Im hoping the car will run 8.8's!

Sorry Brain, just relized that was you. We have to get to the track sometime this year. Im hoping to get my car back here real soon. Steven is planning on taking the car to the track here real soon. I will probably be going down there when that time comes. He said the weather has been real shity there lately so who knows, I honestly don't miss the thing to much. I need to worry about other things then that damn car! LOL Who knows how long I will keep this one. Anyway,

Medium sized dog trying to get into the big dog pen. 408 is together and have 8 passes allready, nothing stellar yet, as the tune is being fine tuned, a few glitches. Did get a best ever n/a pass, yea I know big deal this is the nitrous section. Anyway, if I can get the last glitch (drops injector DC at 63xx then shoots up and hits rev limiter) worked out, the timing is set to be pulled (18*) and stopping for some 116 octane, and the 200 jets are ready, we shall see this weekend, then on to the 300 shot.

You guys see that Next is selling his car and retiring, hehehehe, we'll see how long he stays away from racing.

Well I'll be dynoing tonite, hopefully we have my electrical issues solved.
and I can make some shake down hits this weekend.

Any of the other "big dogs" try firing 6 noids at once?

My voltage dropped from 13 to 8 pretty quick when the 2nd stage came on.

Anyways I hope to have some shakedown runs on the new intake and direct port this weekend.

I had that problem, was just a shot battery, the alternator couldn't keep up with trying to recharge batt and suppling all the amps for the dual heaters and two big noids; however, it didn't drop to as low a voltage as your seeing.

I am right there with Robert....mid size dog....currently working on getting the AFR 227's and single plane installed, and attempting to lose another 200# off the car.

Won't see 8's but I am shooting for mid 9's out of the ol' LT1

Well I finally have a new motor put together the third of the season with 0 Runs on the car (I've had a ton of problems) So the motor put 623 to the crank 408 9.5:1 lunati rotating assembly diamond -28cc pistons cam in the 610 ranges on a 115. Stock casting heads that flowed in the 320's (can't afford tf's or afr's right now)

Cars down to 3400 without me in it. Ladder bar car now full cage and a 9". i'm trying a 4l60 thats built but I also have a th400 with a brake on the shelf ready to go in. Just working the major bugs out of this thing don't know if I'll get any good passes this year on the spray or not. Trying to get it all together for the lsx shootout. But no promises. The record for a gto is still 9.77 (nitrous record is still 10.23) This thing should have no problem with running either of those numbers.

Medium dog here, should have my new motor back in the next two weeks, I'm picking up the powerglide this weekend, and still cutting weight out of the car. The car should be in the 2900lb range when finished, I just hope I can keep the heads down long enough to get deep in the 9's with my lil 347.
