Default scared to spray

well every time i brought it up my friends say i will blow my engine using nitrous even though they know nothing about it...but i couldnt resist the 100hp at the flick of a button soo i went ahead and ordered the tntf1 kit, window swith,FPSS,and purge and am having it installed on friday. I drive an a4 01 z28 with just a few bolt ons..so if i do end up blowing something up or screwing something up what would it most likeley be ? any safety precautions i should take?

You're gonna crack the welds on the intake manifold for sure

First off, your friends are obviously ******* idiots when it comes to cars. Get yourself a set of NGKTR6 or Autolite103 plugs if you haven't already. Set up your kit, triple check your wiring, make sure all your noids are working properly, as well as your window switch. I'd suggest either hooking up with a wideband to make sure you're not spiking or running out of fuel up top (well, anywhere in the curve actually), or getting to a dyno which will also use a wideband. And you'll need a new set of tires

spray the bioch!
whats the worst that can happen?
break your car (which will 99.9% NOT happen on a 100 kit)
it aint like you'll die
the way i see it is, i can never break anything that cant be fixed.

100 shot on your car shouldnt be a problem at all. I can remember doing 150 hits on a stock 5 liter motor with stock injectors and stock pump. A LOT of your peeps probably have absolutely no idea what nitrous is, nor what it does, nor what they are talking about. I remember when I first sprayed my car, it was a little nerve racking but after the first or second shot, it was over. I think a lot of guys have heard stories from the past when guys were drilling out jets and overdoing it by lots. Ask anyone about 100 shot and you will get the same response, no problems.... spray it. You can put a wideband on it but at 100 shot , personally I wouldnt sweat it. I ran over 200 bottles through my 5 liter and had a backfire once, because I hit switch before 3 thousand rpm. It was my fault and never happened again. I never had a wideband on it and the motor was still running well after 200+ bottles on it . Good luck with everything.

I have to deal with people telling me my motor is going to blow all the time. Most people dont know **** about nitrous, Just what they have seen on fast and furious. That movie gave nitrous a bad rep.

I installed the spray anyway and did my own thing. I have a 100 shot and i sprayed it for the first time a few nights ago and its great.

FPSS, TPS switch, and a window switch will make it safe .... are you a M6 or auto?

im going to venture to say that the first thing that will break is the stock rearend...being stock or close to it, i would agree with the pilling it over 3000 rpms and letting off around 5800 (mostly depends on where redline is at for you)...im not an expert by any means...so it would probably be better to take the advice of the more experianced

Get yourself a bottle heater. Very important. You have to make sure that you're spraying at the correct pressure. I'd say test your car at different pressures and see what works best. IMO, you want to stay around 1050-1100 psi. I usually run my kit at 1150-1200. I'm not sure what kind of noids come with that kit, but I wouldn't run that high psi with the small noids. I started out with a 75 shot. That lasted until the next time I went to the track when I went up to a 100 shot. I ran that for about a year. Now, I've moved up to a 150 shot. I would also recommend to put the car on a dyno to check your a/f ratios. But, you don't have to. TR6s gapped at .035. Spray away and have fun.

Ya i remember when i hooked up my 100 wet shot for the first time. I didnt get no FPSS or WOT switch or any other BS like that. I hooked it up to red button that was hidden in my ash tray. When i want the power i just hit the button, been doing it that way for years.

I am pretty new at spraying and I am loving it..
I started out with the 50 shot.. Made a pass...
Went back and put the 75 shot in... made a pass.
and then was going to put 100 shot in then decided not too...
I then found out why my car was running and loving the N2O... I had a small tune on the car.
So I went to a 150 dry shot.. WOW.. it works no problem... I am still rich as hell, so some adjusting needs to be done, but WOW....

150 dry, and now its time to tune that in and down.... Plus some other additions,

But you will be great on 100 shot..... no problems... And dont listen to your buddies, if you have a 01z28..........
