Default Hurt #6 with 175 shot why???

My friend burnt the #6 plug and lost compresstion in his LS2 why?

05 C6 LS2 built by lingenfelter base H/C with forged internals.

CAI
FAST
KOOKS 1 7/8
N.O. plate
N.O. stand alone
TR6's at .35
175 Jets (~160rwhp)
NOS progressive controller

100 octane in the main tank
112 Sunnoco in the stand alone

He sprayed the car with low bottle pressure started at 900 it dropped to 700.

It broke up in the big end and burnt the #6 plug and lost compression

What do you guys think happened?

He thinks it was too rich, I am thinking it must have been lean???

Could the #6 injector be bad?

yeah an injector must have done that...whats weird exspecially to hurt forged internals....
low bottle pressure like that too...sounds like it was very safe just lost fuel on that cylinder

I've also seen an injector fail and take a cyl. out before.

How much timing was he running??? Just because it's forged doesn't mean its indestructible.

Heck, I run a NGK 5553 just on motor in my LT4. When I spray I go to a 6097 (BKR7E). I wouldn't mess around with a TR6. It can't pull enough heat out of the cylinder to avoid detonation. Of course it also depends on how much timing he is running. Can't say if my choices would be perfect for his set up. I'd say call NGK or look on their website - they have a lot of tech details right on the site.

It was rich. To rich will hurt the motor just as fast as being lean.

Most people will say "leave it a little rich to be safe" NOT TRUE on N20. The only safe tune is the right tune.

The tr6 is an extended tip plug, even though it's colder than stock plug if anything at all goes wrong you end up with a glow plug that could spell destruction. All the real experts will tell not to run an extended tip plug with the hose. Yes, I kow many do, but a smaller hit is more forgiving, and even then it's doesn't mean it's the best plug. Starting with the tr7 the tips are no longer projected.

+1, too much fuel can cause major issues
