50 shot?

50 shot?
I'm looking into getting a kit for my car this winter. I like the NOS plate kit, but I believe it starts at 100 hp. Is there a way to tone it down to 50 hp or another kit that will allow for that? My reasoning is that a bottle will last much longer on a 50 shot and still give me about the same power as a good set of heads.
Sorry if this stupid question, I have no experience with nitrous.
Thanks!
Ron

a 50 shot will last longer but you wont feel that "kick in the ***" that you get with higher shots. some would say you really cant feel anything at all. you can allways upgrade to a 15lb bottle if your worried about running out of juice that often. hope this helps...let me know if ya have anymore questions.

^Damn, that's a good price! I'll definitely consider it! Have you had it on any cars for a length of time? (Just curious about the kits long term reliability)
I'm not as much worried about a kick in the pants feel any more than I would be with a set of heads. I just want the extra 50 hp, lol. Too many cars around here that are dead even with me.
As for the 15 lbs bottle, it'll cost more to fill, so although it would last longer, I'd be paying the same in the end.
Thanks for the info! Like I said, I'll definitely be looking into your kit!

The NOS plate can be jetted down to 75...this is due to the plate not atomizing properly with low HP jetting.
Our plate has been flow tested from 50-400hp with no flow issues.
As Rick stated tho' once you install the kit I would be willing to bet the 50 jets wouldn't stay in the kit very long before you move up in HP.
Another option if you wanted to run a smaller shot is to go with a nozzle system, they can be jetted down to 35hp

Yeah, I can't say for sure that I'd keep the low jetting in it once I got a taste of the power, lol.
If it's a question of the kit not working well that low, then I'd just go with the 75 jetting.
Thanks!

i would go with the harris kit i have it couldnt be happier with the kit or their service you better go ahead and order the jets to 150 cause that 50 wont stay in thier long and trust me bottles go fast no matter how much your spraying it cost to go fast but its so worth it i thought i would keep the low jets in too and be happy but im a nitrious junkie now going to be hitten it with a 150 next spring for sure might even try 200 wana see what the stock blocks got

How long does it take to change it up and what else must be done? Could I set it for 75 for daily driver use and then up it to 100+ for a weekend race, etc?
Thanks for the responses!

This will all be dependant on what all mods you have on the car....if you are on a stock motor/tune there will not be "tune" changes to be made.
You will only need to adjust A/F for each HP setting you want to run.
Now if you have a custom tune you might need to pull timing for the size shot you are going to run.
On mine I can jet up or down and only change the amount of timing retard I am running.

tons of people have run dry shots on stock tunes i dont reconmend it i think you should put a jet in tune it for that jet and if you want to go bigger throw it back on the dyno and check everything but thats me i dont like guessing but you can get away with it cause the mass air reads the extra flow and makes up for it and if the ecu picks knock it will retard the timing automatically but it will pull alot im preety sure you will run out of injectore on the 150 though you will need some tr6 plugs and theres some other nice safty stuff on the market right now

i ran 50 shot and believe me, i could feel it for sure! on motor the car barely spins the tires top of second, on the nitrous it spins them majorly hard and spins again on the 2-3 shift, i'll be upping to a 100 shot soon but 50 shot is certainly fun!
