How many miles on the engine, and the condition of the engine?

The most important thing is simple, spend the extra money on safety equipment: window switch, wot switch, fuel pressure safety switch. Spray the first time either on a dyno or with monitoring equipment of some sort to verify a/f and that there is not too much timing advance.

you guys really need to read....
i said its a 100 shot not a 150 wet shot.

To any random idiot, any car is good enough for nitrous as long as it runs.
W/e the crap is never touchin any of my cars.

Wow! It sounds like you dont know much about nitrous and Lt1's. 1st of all unless your friend plans on doing more mods the way of choice for Lt1's is a wet shot. If the Lt1 is in good running shape it should take a 150 wet shot if done properly. I know of people running 175+ rwhp shots on stock blocks and have been doing fine. The key is doing research and knowing what you are doing before you do it. For a 100 shot I would recomend ngk tr6 plugs, 1 - 2 degrees timing pulled and your basic safety equipment.

I read your origanal post well enough. The funny thing about nitrous is that it does have a funny effect on people. I started just with a 75 shot, and that was all i was gonna do. But then it just wasn't enough. So i upped it. You asked for advice, i gave mine, if you don't like it, just shut the hell up and don't ask for advice.... OR try telling your buddy to do a search on the subject. PLENTY of info on nitrous on this site.

... im not gonna debate with you bud. But out of curiosity, if you didnt notice a difference with a 75 shot why didnt you just do motor mods? Is there really a huge difference with a bigger shot? Im sure its noticeable at like 200+ but... how much do you need to put through the block before you can notice?

I personally think nitrous is the worst thing for a motor but its just an opinion.
ill let him read all the posts, thanks for the info.

Any "random idiot" would know there's a difference between a car that runs, and an engine that is healthy enough to run a small shot of nitrous.
Maybe the person that owns this car should find someone that is a little more knowledgeable in this area than just a "representative".

Some very good advice has been given in this thread along with alot of hearsay information.

Nitrous can be ran safely as long as the standard precautions are taken.
1) Compression test
2) Safety features
3) Tuning

A stock internal LT1 can take up to a 150 shot as long as these steps are taken.

Feel free to have your friend call/email me if he has any questions.

I noticed a difference with a 75 shot. And I noticed a hell of a difference with a 150 shot. Took 1.34 seconds off my quarter mile.

Did you come on here hoping that we would talk him out of nitrous? I mean seriously man. Nitrous is as safe as you want it to be. If you have all the safety equipment and tune the motor right there is no reason why you cannot run nitrous safely. I ran a 150 shot on my STOCK LT1 ALL THE TIME. With no problems whatsoever. I plan on spraying a 150 shot on my 400 RWHP motor and hope to run low 11's or high 10's.

Don't knock something you clearly know nothing about.

My lt1 bolt-on car loves a 100 shot it picked up alot with it no timing pulled and ngk tr6s. Its one of the best things i have ever done for the $. Like was said above as long as its used right you will be ok. I have seen a 200 shot sprayed on a stock short block over and over again. I dont have the ***** to spray that much but his car makes killer power.

My 96k mile lt1 loved the 100 shot. And just for the record we put nitrous on my brothers 5.0 mustang with 190k miles on it and ran a 100 shot through it with no problems.
