Post FS/TRADE: 2 1TB SATA Harddrives 56K NO! BIG PICTURES

Due to a weird..winning. I have 2 used western digital 1TB caviar green harddrives for sale. Got them off a friend he says he doesn't need them anymore and I don't need them either..
As you can see in the pictures the model number and the date they were made (april 2009) so these aren't exactly old hard drives here.

$90 shipped for each one, open to offers, OR interested in speakers for my trans am. Need front speakers and sail panel subs.

Both Drives side by side

Drive #1 MDL # - Western Digital wd10eacs-00d6b1

Drive #2 Link

If your computer can take SATA drives then you should be fine, just make sure your windows it up to date or have vista so it will read the 1tb

I have vista.

It looks like I have an open slot but there is a large serial bus coming off the hard drive taking up that space. I might be able to move that.

Is SATA a larger 4 pin connection or a smaller 4 pin connection. I see the one i have is connected by a larger 4 pin so that's probably what SATA is. I think i might have enough slack in that connection to connect it. I"ll have to dig into it later and take some pics for you. I'm interested in one of the hard drives for sure. If I have to get an external enclosure and run usb, i might. I will let you know and take pictures later. I gotta get to work.

Yep I think in the last picture I can see the sata cable so you'll be fine.

For everyone else, this is what the front of the harddrives look like so you know what connectors you need if your unsure if you have sata cables or not.

Where are you seeing a SATA cable? The only one that may be a SATA is between his pointer and middle finger in the last picture but that looks to be too wide. All the other hookups you showed look to be power cables coming from the PSU. The SATA would run from the mother board to your hard drive and is typically about 1/4 - 11/2 inch wide flat cable. Does your mother board even have SATA connections on it?

Good luck with the sale, I have multiple WD Drives and they have all been great to me!

It appears as the only open slot I have on the motherboard is a (bus) type connection. in picture 2 is what appears to be jumper connection of the bus for another hard drive.

I do not see any sata type connections except in the last picture and all those connection i am holding appear to all be coming off the power supply. I don't know if i can hook this up. Even though my knowledge is limited, I'm pretty sure a "SATA like" looking connection coming from the power supply isn't what i need. The only way it looks like i can hook this up is through that "bus".

There are SATA to USB converters and stuff, but it just doesn't seem like it will be worth it.

I thought that last pic was a wire coming off your mobo, if its from the psu then nvm that isnt a sata cable lol. Just check wires coming off your mobo for something like this

Actually it will work for you. The cable coming off the PSU that looks like a wider SATA is the SATA power cable, which is what SATA drives use instead of the standard Molex like a IDE drive, and you should have 4 small red SATA ports on the lower right hand side of the MOBO. I have a old eMachines just like that, (same MOBO and everything) and it'll work fine. The cable pictured above is a all in one, which I've never actually seen before. The harddrive will work perfectly fine.

Ok so the wider looking SATA connection is for power?
How do I hook up the connection to the right on the HD...that's the SATA connection right? Somehow I need to connect that to the mobo...
I'm guessing i'll just need to buy a SATA wire and that connects from the hard drive to the bottom right part of the motherboard?

Sorry about the shitty pictures, i can't get enough light down in my basement. Then the flash is too bright if i get too close.

Im still not seeing a sata cable there. It's 2 thin ones, you would know if it's different from the others. You might have a cable for power but not a sata connection on the mobo itself.
