Racing Go-Kart Comet Cart PICS!! I have a racing go kart for sale made by comet. First of all let me just say the frame alone brand new was $1700. So maybe that will put the price of this into perspective.
Here is a list of everything I am selling...
1. Comet Kart
Comes with a Yamaha KT-100S 2 stroke motor. Also has a Temperature gauge and Tach gauge mounted on the steering wheel. The motor has been fully balanced and blueprinted. It has been boared over and does come with 3 new replacement forged pistons.1 made by wiseco and 2 by burris. The cart has hydraulic disc brakes. It can obtain speeds around 55-60 mph.
2. New Spark plugs (I believe I have 3 or 4)
3. As mentioned above 3 new replacement foged pistons
4. A Starter that runs off of battery power.
5. A Kart stand. (Made by me)
6. 2 new replacement Horstman clutches (valued at $300 each)
7. Clutch Fluid
8. New Master links for the chain (2)
9. Master link installer
10. New chain (about 6 ft at least)
11. 3 different sized sprockets
12. An Alcohol carburetor
13. 2 rebuild kits for carbs
14. New carb jet
15. 2 different clutch housings with different sized sprockets
16. 2 different kinds of exhaust.(1 is for racing regulations other is for performance. Currently performance exhaust is on it.)
17. Various exhaust pieces including, springs, mounts, bolts etc.
18. Differnt pedals both gas and brake(I prefer the ones on it currently)
19. A tire installation tool.(made by the person I bought it from)
20. 3 new clutch packs
21. Various manuals for the motor and cart. Clutch rebuilding papers, carb rebuilding papers. etc.
22. Various patches and stickers from karting events, sponsors
23. Appx. 1k in various reciepts spent on the kart. (trust me that is just a drop in the bucket)
24. Many little nuts bolts bearings brackets etc. that I have accumulated over the years.
25. A shitload of fun
I can seriously say I will be missing this thing when I sell it. Everytime I get on it it still gives me a rush.
As for the "bads"..
1. On the shaft coming from the motor the threads are stripped which can probably be rethreaded using a die. Or you could just grind them off all together because there are plenty of other threads to hold on the clutch rod. (really it doesn't affect anything)
2. the tires on the cart wont hold air for days at a time.
They are good if you air them up. They will hold air for the whole day i guess ( I have never ridden that long). They will stayed aired up for as long as you ride it. At least until you run out of gas. The tires need to be replaced, but just for recreation they are fine, If you plan on racing it then definately replace them.
3. Since there is only one wheel that has the hydraulic brakes if you apply the brakes too hard it will pull to that side and even spin if you lock the tire up. Not really a defect but just a downside I guess.
And now for the pics..
I have invested THOUSANDS into this cart and I have to sell it cause I am moving and just don't have room for it anymore.
I am asking for $800 O.B.O.
