I love mine it has a perfect weight and feel so when you shoot it, the recoil dosent bother you too much for you follow up shots. One of my next ones will be the XD's probably the .357

I just looked at the owners manual that came with mine and they are made in geneseo, IL u.s.a. Like he said above it could be the wood grip that is made in brazil. Mine dosent have anything brazil on it. Or it could be that since yours is stainless that those models were manufactured in brazil. I have the blued steel with dark walnut grips and it says made in USA all over it. Either way it is a good gun, springfield is not going to stamp there name on it if it is not up to spec.

It is made in brazil... alot of Springfields guns are imported from outside the united states. This is not the same springfield company that built the m1's & 1903's etc of the first half of the 20th century... It is an different corporation that bought the rights to the name. But that being said, my brother has a Springfield 1911, very nice gun.
Some one should pick this up $550 is a good price, $470 is an awsome price for this handgun!

Mine dosent say brazil anywhere it is stamped USA all over it. If you take the grip off it will have a USA stamp on it. Same with on the frame below the shell ejection port it says USA. I was aware that this co. sold the rights to someone but if my gun was made in brazil it would say it just like your guns will say it.
