One more thing. How do you justify speed racing from just taking off quickly. If I was speed racing then there should be two cars pulled over not one, right?

This is straight from the traffic code book. If he cited you under this ORS

811.125 Speed racing on highway; penalty. (1) A person commits the offense of speed racing on a highway if, on a highway in this state, the person drives a vehicle or participates in any manner in any of the following in which a vehicle is involved:

(a) A speed competition or contest.

(b) An acceleration contest.

(c) A test of physical endurance.

(d) An exhibition of speed or acceleration.

(e) The making of a speed record.

(f) A race. For purposes of this paragraph, racing is the use of one or more vehicles in an attempt to outgain, outdistance or prevent another vehicle from passing, to arrive at a given destination ahead of another vehicle or vehicles or to test the physical stamina or endurance of drivers over long distance driving routes.

(g) A drag race. For purposes of this paragraph, drag racing is the operation of two or more vehicles from a point side by side at accelerating speeds in a competitive attempt to outdistance each other, or the operation of one or more vehicles over a common selected course, from the same point to the same point for the purpose of comparing the relative speeds or power of acceleration of the vehicle or vehicles within a certain distance or time limit.

(2) The offense described in this section, speed racing on a highway, is a Class A traffic violation and is applicable on any premises open to the public. [1983 c.338 §568; 1985 c.16 §287]

Best thing to do is like Mike said. Write everything down. I wouldnt try postponing court dates. Police Officers are subpoenaed to court when a defendant pleads not guilty.

JUST FYI when the Police Officer pulls you over and he asks if you know why you are being stopped. He is looking for an admission of guilt. Always respond politly with a no not really...lol Be kind and respectful it does go a long ways.

Damn l do that fast acceleration thing all the time (like the zero to 35-45 thing depending on the speed limit) looks like I better take it down a notch and granny it.

I wonder how my head and cam package would do in a 402 motor?

It would be restrictive but would make more power than your current setup. Your current cam might be a bit on the small side for a 402. Why, you gonna get a 402 now?

Ya I think the cam is too small for a motor that size and I would probly want L92 heads or AFR 225s or something I was thinking about doing a 370CI or a 383. I kinda like the 370 cuz it gives me more options down the road

I'd stay away from a 383 just because of the small bore size. Go with something that has a larger bore size (4.0" or larger) you'll have way more options for cylinder heads.

Thanks for the input. I probly won't be getting a shortblock anytime soon at all. But the 370 seems like a good choice to me

A 370 is a GREAT budget engine. Has a good size bore and can make good power. Plus the ability to stroke it later on is a nice bonus as well. I originally wanted to do a 408, but budget constraints limited my choice.

So how much could I get a forged 370 for? The only reason I wouldent wana do a 408 is cuz I just spent a ton of money on heads and a cam. And if I had a 408 I would have to redo my heads and cam also

Ya your right with my setup it could make a lot of power on a 408. But I could have a way bigger and cam and much higher flowing heads on a motor like that. If not it would not be at its potential

True about bigger h/c but then you would not like driving it anywhere but the track and it wouldnt run good at all on the street so keep that in mind too
