Those new 5.0's are no joke!

It's too bad GM had to put an IRS rear suspension on the new Camaro. Once again it's the achiles heel of the Camaro, only this time the rearend is weak AND heavy. I wonder who is going to be the first to produce and market a 9" rear for the 5th gens? LOL.... Maybe I should get busy on that.

LOL,,, that's pretty funny vid actually. A perfect comback vid would be a Vanilla Ice spoof, with some 'wanna be' poser rollin' in a new 5.0 droptop lol.....

Good luck at your dyno day Steve.

Wow, this intercooler is almost the perfect size. I wish it was a few inches longer though, then I could use my existing bumper grilles for air. But I think I'm going to be better off just cutting the black section out and letting it have as much air as it can get. Still need to brace the bottom, need to think up something for that still. I still need to drop the engine, I just don't have the steam for it yet.

And yeah it needs a bath, really bad

Yeah, that's our purple poney, it's gonna sit there until I feel like getting my nhra license, lol. Has a punched and stroked 351 cleveland (408 now), all forged inside.

And I don't like those billet grilles really, I'd rather have nothing there than one of those escalade things.

Yeah, rumor is that the Z28 will be getting basically be the same engine as the supercharged Caddy CTS-V. I sure wish GM would offer it with a 12 bolt straight axle which would shed about 200lbs compared the IRS rearend.

My thing with the new camaro is that for 40+k you can build a 4th gen to the hilt. I mean for out of the box power its great but lets be honest none of us is would just buy it and leave it alone..lol

It's the "latest and greatest" from GM, and some people can't live without it lol.... I wouldn't mind owning one, but they sure are heavy. Personally I'd still prefer a 05-06 GTO for a daily driver over a new Camaro. I don't care much for the seating position in the new Camaro's.

The 4th gen is still my favorite but I have always liked them since before I even had a drivers license. The 5th gen is just too big. They should just make a retro 4th gen lol
