I've got various lq4 blocks/parts/engines laying around the shop. I've decided to go with an aftermarket block on my next build, so pm me with what all you're looking for and I'll see what I can come up with.

Looking good, what brand are the headers? I bet that helps it breath a little better. Any plans for cam or any further mods or just going to keep it bolt ons for now?

Sure l would run it, it's heavy but the LS3 gets with it for sure (better than I would have thought for about 3800lbs).. it's in the mid to high 12s according to my seat of my pants Dyno. 1 7/8 long tubes no cats and full 3" duals w/ram air cai and tune makes it pull great on the top end. These are really refined compared to other gens as a DD. I may go from 3.45s to 3.91. And a Supercharger after a while. It's a full OBX system, basically a Kooks knock off set up but still t304 stainless steel. The exhaust systems for this gen are stupid money imo.
I will focus on making the 1969 the one for the 1/4, it's the m/t in the sig. But now with dual exhaust and 4.11s and a plate for the NOS. I will run a much better tire set up on it too, so we'll see if it's got a ten in it. Probably have to run Woodburn though. It's not going to get a cage though so it will be a N/A car most evenings if I want to make more than one run a night.

Looks nice and bet that it did wake it up, the ls3 is pretty impressive engine. I would love to have a first Gen with ls motor but so expensive even for a starter project car.

Thanks!
Have you ever thought about an LSx in your Jeep?
This is where the parts for mine came from. http://www.novak-adapt.com/index.htm

Yep actually gathering parts now for it, i have been wanting to do it for long time but was hard for me to justify when it has a sbc and a th350 that are nearly new. I am still debating on keeping th350 or going to the 4l65e. For engine I bought a 6.0l was going to do a mild build on, found a ls6 with pretty low miles so now debating which engine to go with.

Very Cool! it's gonna be a monster, I only have a 5.3/4l60 totally stock other than bolt on's and a mild tune and it's a runner. I have had more fun surprising people in that TJ than probably anything else I have owned. Though when l was a teenager l put a 16v Scirocco motor/trans in my four door beige Rabbit..

That's awesome any photos of it? What rear end gears? I hope mine runs good, it will be a while im sure till i get the swap done. I always wanted a ls motor in it but when i did the swap i couldn't fund the ls motor as they were much more expensive then they are now and I only working part time during high school. Its fun because no one would ever expect a jeep to be quick at all. (Not that it is not or ever will be fast, its quicker then most would expect for what it is.) There is a group of us that have jeeps and I went over to the dunes with them and really made me want to make mine faster. If anyone knows anyone looking for a gmpp crate motor I will have one to sell once i pull it from my jeep.

Yeah it's posted on page 461 of this thread the pictures are as it was just before I tidied up engine bay wiring finishing touches and what not ,it's got 3.73s and the super 35 kit in the rear, I would fear it would break in the sand. I have ran against a few guys and they usually always give me a thumbs up It usually starts with not letting some Hemi Dodge pass me Lol even a few Diesels it pulls right with them 9 out of 10 times. I had a Hemi barely pull on me once, about a fender till about 90. But at about 90mph+ it reminds me it's a Jeep. I have to keep reminding myself it's plenty fun and fast as is and not cam it or maybe NOS, three years and I have managed to keep it as it is... Please post pic's of the swap when you get to it I would love to see the progress!

Clean looking jeep, once I finally start I will post photos, prob be a while till I get around to starting the swap. My cousin has a cj5 with a sbc and nitrous and it's real quick for a little jeep part of my motivation to swap an ls in it. Does yours do decent for fuel mileage (not that it's built for that) my sbc is lucky to get 12mpg

Your cousins Jeep is Crazy sauce!! And yours looks super clean too, and nice sbc install, I can see why you have been dragging your feet on changing it out.
Mine gets 15-17mpg depending on how I drive it. So I think your up for some improvement in that department too after the swap is done.

Thanks man, his is fun to ride in, much quicker then mine even off bottle but it's lighter and has more power, so go figure. It's definitely been tough to justify doing the ls swap when everything works and is done and driveable. But the power the ls motors make and benefits of efi will be nice. As far as mpg goes be sweet to see increases but obviously not built to get great fuel mileage although it did go up from the 4.2l straight 6 it had when I swapped this motor. 3 times the hp 2 times the torque and depending on driving up to 3 mpg better then I was getting with previous engine, so adding power with ls engine and better mpg would be nice.

It sounds like you've got a pretty clear idea of what to expect.
Mine had the 4banger so the mpg is pretty close to what it was, smiles per mile are about x100, I kinda thought it might do 20mpg on the interstate w/the 4l60e but it's always been the 15-17 range.
It's lite but it's kinda a brick as far as aerodynamics, not to mention the tires out there grabbing all that air as your rolling.
