Ford 9" - 'Quick Performance' Housing
#22
Here's a guy that just got through installing his QP 9". He even mentions that you can in fact adjust the pinion angle with the heim joints.

Everything I've read about this rearend is nothing but good comments. I'm very anxious to get it installed and under the car.

I got the center section back from powdercoat and started on setting up the gears. Should be getting the QP 9" housing today also.

I got the QP 9" Housing last night and gave it a once over. Here a few pics of the welding that was done on it. There was a guy in the Gears/Axles section that was knocking QP's welding. I've seen, and done quite a bit of welding in my day, and this certainly isn't anything to be ashamed of IMO.
I saved the best for last. Check out the inside AND outside welds around the LCA mount.
Also, notice the bead weld down the length of the shock mount. I had to double take on it because it looked like one continuous piece of metal. No backcutting or gouges in the weld, no spatter, just a perfect bead all the way along that 90 degree edge.

Made some more progress on the car this weekend. I welded up the LCA relocation brackets onto the housing and also welded the sway bar spacers I made from 1" square tubing. Also dropped off the housing at the powdercoater and was very happy to hear that it might be finished early this week, maybe even today!!
I'm waiting on a torque wrench that measure inch/pounds (with a dial indicator), and then I can finish setting up the gears in the center section.
Finally feel like I'm making some decent progress.

Yes, very very anxious to get the black car back on the road again. It's been waaaaay to long on jackstands lol...
I'm uploading pics of my freshly powdercoated QP housing in a few minutes. Just waiting for them to upload to photobucket now.

Here it is, back from powdercoat in silvervein color. It now matches my BMR Kmember.
Spohn LCA relocation brackets I welded up this past saturday.
Modified stock sway bar mount.
LT1 Backing Plates
That's about it for now. Just need to finish the gear setup and clean up the underside of the car. I also need to bend up some brake lines and fab up a mount for the brake line Tee.

Thanks guys. And Cody, don't even think about touching my rear. LOL that sounded funny... I'll call ya sometime this week about the bearings, now that I have the backing plates back from pc. Do you have a drill press? I need to clearance the backing plates so that I can remove the 3" long studs without pulling the axles.
