Bought a place in North Salem, I will be moving out there by the end of June, just picked up a silver Ws6 hardtop formula to bring with me as well : )

Woodburn dragstrip is about 30 miles from Albany. That would be your closest. 2 or 3 hours south is Champion Raceway in Medford, OR. 80 miles north is Portland International Raceway.
Corvalis is a college town, so I would suspect the cops are relatively thick. When I moved out here, I couldn't really find a whole lot for clubs, especially F-Body. This group on here (mostly Portland area) is about the best you will find. As for shops, no one is better in the area than TJ Wong (Wong's Performance Engineering).

Woodburn is 1/4, Champion is 1/4, PIR is 1/4 on weekends, and 1/8 on Wednesday nights. As for DMV and emissions fees, sorry I can't help where as I live in Washington. You may try Oregon State DMV website. Those kinds of sites usually have a FAQ on moving into the state and contain fee information sometimes. Worth a try.

well where I live now is 200 inches of snow a year, 8.75% sales taxes, huge property taxes ($5k+ on an average home) and paying for all the welfare cases in NY city oh and a blind black govenor in office that wont step down despite scandal after scandal

Ya its like $86 bucks every two years to keep your cars registered. Here in Oregon the top speed limit is 65 we have two slow lanes on the two lane highways and the prius own's the road. Oregon is said to be one of the best driving states but that's because everyone drives so slow. Oh and we don't need signs reminding us not to honk like New York haha.

I think you may have me beat

hahaha you got me there man
NYs top speed is 65 also, people drive like absolute ********, pull out in front of you, cut you off ect and then give you the finger, the DMV rapes you pretty good, I paid over $4k between taxes and registration on my 2010 Camaro last year, average registration here is $70-$100 for 2yrs, $50 title fee, forget what plates cost but they arent free, $24? yearly inspections that include plugging into the PCM on OBD2 cars, gas is currently $2.93 or something for 87, and we only have a 1/8th mile strip thats about 40mins from me, it costs $20 to do test and tune and on a good night you might get 5 runs in over a 5hr period because you have to wait for junior dragsters and snowmobiles
oh and do I have to mention what road salt does to our cars here??

No road salt, no sales tax, and other than the $80 or so two year registration fees there are no other vehicle based bultshit fees. Once your car is initially registered you can renew by mail every couple of years and the DMV never has to see your car in person again.
That is, outside the Portland area which does have DEQ inspections.
Corvallis is a nice town. Not too far from I-5 if you want to travel and not to far from the beach. All 400 miles of the beach belongs to the public by the way, quite different from the east coast where access can be fairly limited.

Nope, been here almost 3 years and only had to renew my plates just recently. No safety inspections, no emissions and really just not very much hassle. The roads are rough in some places, ESPECIALLY here in Eugene ~30-40 miles south of you.
I'd like to go on some more cruises when the weather gets nicer. It was okay for a couple of weeks but it's back to cold and cloudy. No rain yet though. Should be clearing up next week IIRC and I'll probably take the ol' girl out for a bath and shine.

Nope which does mean we get some hoopties rolling down the road on egg shape tires without brakes, but they don't get rusted so they dont look horrible.
