i think the 408 iron block costs about 1K less than the 402 aluminum, at least from texas speed anyway. 408 FTW

Your going to waste money on working over 5.3 heads man. Start with a better flowing head that has bigger valves

I think what he is getting at is, you will be leaving a decent amount of power on the table with the 5.3's. Yes, guys are making power with them but why not step up to some better flowing heads that will not only make a lot more power but better suit that FAST 102 & 370. The 5.3's IMO are a good budget head and would match up better with a set up like mine. I know money plays a big key roll. I guess if you can afford to step it up, definitely do so. The gains will be well worth it.
