Default GTO Dyno results

How diappointing. I think they put the 350hp motor in my TA, cause we have a 325hp motor in the GTO. It dynoed at 259.6rwhp & 283.2rwtq. But not to fear, Dr Groo is tweaking up a tune for it as I type. I will try to dyno it again Friday & post the results. I'm am thinking between what he can do & a CAI it should be around 310....AND run 13s on Saturday!!!

259 rwhp ? That's a shock, that's almost Mustang GT territory Oh well, it IS an LSx based motor so the cure is only a phone call away

I will likely stop by today Ellis. I'd like to let the tune settle in for a few miles before we re-dyno it. I can't believe some of the things the dyno showed. The curves are VERY choppy, there is a big dump at 5200rpms, and the a/f is PIG rich....try 11.7!

Anyone with a GTO should go let Ellis tune your car. The factory tune SUCKS!!!

11.7 ? Geez they put a FI tune in there lol ! With it that rich as least you know there is alot more hp at your fingertips as soon as you dial that to 12.5 + Is there COT enabled in the tune too ?

Wow, 259 is about the worst I've seen. Mine was 283 stock. I too am hoping for right around 310 when all is said and done.

I know on the 2005s they pull timing with high intake air temp, is that the reason for 11* on this car?

They pull timing EVERYWHERE! I was astounded at all the tables Ellis found where they were retarding the timing by as much as 18*. Suffice to say it has a little more pep now. And I can actually feel it shift. (as in it gets rubber when it hits 2nd) Should be interesting to see how it runs at the track once the PCM adapts.

And the dyno should also prove interesting. On the way home last night I opened her up on the highway. The car used to feel like it fell on it's face at around 100mph. Now it just kept pulling harder....and harder....and harder. I let off around 120 because I was rolling up on traffic. But I would guess ~ 300hp is there now. There is a BIG difference!

You da Man Ellis!!!

Ray send me a mail at speed-secrets@comcast.net

Glad you like it Mark. It was a tricky one. The A4 uses ALOT more tables then the M6 that is for sure!

Wow Mark, those dyno numbers are shocking. I would have expected MUCH more out of the car, especially with all the hype GM put into marketing it. But it sounds like Ellis probably has the car running closer to original Ausie - or at least intended - numbers for you now.

Yeah, it tells you why the 05 Stang GTs run the same 1/4 times....basically same power & weight. And this was on a Dynojet. My 00 TA got 313 with lid & MAF on the same machine.

Your 04 auto is dynoing much lower than other stockers. We had 14 04 and 05 GTOs on a dynojet for a dyno day earlier this year and the auto guys were in the high 280s to mid 290s. T-56 guys were high 290s to low 300s SAE. I hooked HP Tuners up to all the 04s and we logged all the runs.

Maybe you can post your low dyno graph? Was it SAE and running in third gear and not 4th?

Also, watch out which CAI you go with, several end up sucking more underhood heat up and some don't relocate the IAT sensor away from the radiator. I bet you saw a lot of timing retard on the IAT table on your dyno run. A guy with an otherwise stock 04 had a New Era CAI kit on and he was getting really high IAT values and had the lowest #s of the group.

No flames intended, just a comparison of perception: The 05 Mustang's I've seen at the track have run 13.6's. I've watched three of them, they all ran the same. Of course, they didn't run that number every pass. They also suffer from the same computer-mandated performance reductions.

How quick are LS1 powered pickups?

At 5,800 feet the all stock 05 GTs are running mid 15s.
