Am I out of the loop?
I don't know if I'm just slow on hearing info or what, but did others know that GM is stopping production of the GTOs? I read this in hot rod magazine, so maybe they're wrong. I'm really surprised I haven't heard about it on here though.

Ok whats going on This was planned from the start because Holden was only going to allow the GTO to be produced in their plant a few years, then they were to be allowed to go back building cars for themselves again. (since the Monaro as everyone knew it went away)
GM is suppose to bring the GTO production here to the states or the Americans (Canada will most likely build it) & its suppose to be build in the same plant as the Camaro.
If you guys keep an eye on Cheers & Gears or Fastland Blog you will see the announcement for when the Camaro is being produced any day now.

It's already been announced, check out the cover of the latest GMHTP.
And yes, the GTO is coming back in 2009 along with the new Camaro, and they will be sibling cars, based off the current model GTO. This package combined with the aggressive looks is going to be a home run most definitely.

Oh, now I remember hearing that the GTO would be produced here, later. Or whatever.
The way Hot Rod made it sound, it was dead. Funny how different mags report the same thing, but put different spins on it, or leave out some info.
