Default Pure Sex (for car nuts)

The last piece of the new setup arrived yesterday. God this thing purdy. It's a Moser M9, 3.50 gears on a True Trac dif, 3 ch ABS, narrowed 1" (each side) with the Moser torque arm, back brace & all the brackets. Powder coated red of course.

Special thanks to Danny & the crew @ NW Dif for getting my rear end setup & assembled within hours of it getting dropped off at his shop!!!

No problems, Linda never says that to me. More like, "Are you done yet?" or "So what color should we paint the ceiling?" or "Oh George, that feels SOOoo good!" .....

But I did notice the guy that told me to narrow it 1 " on each side & we could make it fit, no worries, went out of town when it showed up.

And I know what you really meant Doug

Tru-trac?
great for street and road racing but I will be surprised if it lasts until the end of the car show season.

Yeah, there wasn't a perfect choice. I wanted to get a 35 spline electric locker, but they don't make one for a 9". Dealing with the jerking left & then right of a locker when you go WOT & lift with my power levels didn't excite me much. Ellis tells me the wall is pretty scary looking.....and I aint driving a spool on the street! We'll see how it holds up.

what spline axles did you put in?
The new locker designs you don't get the jerking action except with manual trannies and then they are pretty predictable.

Beautiful!! However I am curious for why the upgrade? I'm just so used to seeing my uncle and cousing running 'junkyard' 9" rears in the 9's with no problems. They had a big block shoebox nova and got a 9" for like $150, had it narrowed and got new axles. Bottomline they were in it for like $900 all said and done and it took whatever they threw at it. Just trying to understand... But once again that is a work of art!!

Hey mark the locker in my nine was not that bad on the street, took a little getting use to but was not bad, but at the strip i wouldn'e want anything else. But if someone hears the poping when your going around corners they might think you have a race car and we wouldn't want that

Looks pretty

Thanks guys, it is almost too pretty to install....I'll defiinitely need mirors & ramps for car shows.

As for why I made this choice - I want ABS on my car, converting from 4 ch to 3 ch is no picnic by most accounts. I want to tuck the tires into the fender wells. The flared fender mod is $10-15K by the time you get it painted. I want something a little stronger without giving up cornering or predictability. The back brace housing + this posi should do that. Chad NEEDS a 9". (my old one) And it's pretty.

Whether this is the right combo, time will tell. It looked like the best choice to me for what I want to do. You all know by now I am not building a dedicated 1/4 mile car, I want it to do it all.....and I'm WAY past using junk yard parts on what should be a 1000hp car. (eng)

What's your tranny warranty say again Ellis?
