Default Looking for TBI 350.....

My girlfriends brother has a '90 chev 1/2 ton 4x4 pick up that he just forced to sink a ton of cash into a new rear end and trans but the motor is on the way out the door next. He is going through a quart of oil at every fill up. Motor runs strong but needs new rings from the sound of it. He cant afford to have the car down for more than a weekend so he figured he would just try to find a crate engine to drop in it.

Right now he has only sourced NAPA and SCHMUCKS for a motor and I am trying to steer him clear of those places. Do any of you have any lines on a good 350 that would work in this truck?

Thanks

EDIT:

I checked out the link and it shows a "stage 1" kit for 14xx.00? Is that just the accy.'s that would go on the motor?

And do you think we could pull everything off his motor and bolt right to the one you have pictured?

I can get you as good if not better price from GM and you don't have shipping charges through GM. You could also get a roller cam'd vortec headed motor for $2200 or so and get a vortec manifold and would be a little nicer motor.

I'm going through the same thing right now with my brother's truck. For mine I swapped in a 6.0L

The Scoggin stuff is great. Genuine GM stuff. I have found them to be just as friendly and even more helpful then many of the local Dealerships

Scoggin Dickey was great to deal with and the parts arrived on time and in great condition. LS6 and quite a few odds and ends. I would also recommend them to anyone that needs GM parts.
