And engine stand is an engine stand, check the thickness of the material it looks good it should be fine. Its more about how you fasten the engine to the stand than the stand itself.

Just take a bell housing/block bolt to ace hardware, make sure that you get bolts/washers big enough for the engine stand mine are almost falling through the slots right now and that needs to be taken care of.
Interesting? I am guessing you don't have an engine hoist?

I have one and its had a good amount of engines on it and works just fine.
If your woriied about getting it on a stand just put the plate on the engine and get a good friend to help pick it up and slide it on the stand, I ve had to do it a few times. You should be ok as along as its an alum block, we've done it with a complete ls1 but that sucked...
