Gm makes an even lighter rust/orange color that I've seen on their cars. You probably didn't pay attension to it because It's mostly seen on the **** boxes(i.e. Cobalt). Cool color though. Still cannot go wrong with SOM. It fits F-bodies.

NP, I like researching stuff like that.
At first I was not digging HOK paints since they were used on every friggin reality TV car/motorcycle.... BUT I am really getting into some of those colors and I would do a 4th gen in some sick blue or kandy hellfire type paint.

I know it looks orange, but it's called Copper Kandy. It just came out of the booth about a week ago. My buddy has a full paint booth and shop on his property and does paint and body work on the side. It took us a little over three week (pulling about 6 or 7 all-nighters). It was primered, then sprayed with a copper basecoat, 8 coats of Copper Kandy w/ the maple pearl mixed in, and 4 coats of clear. We're both extremely happy with the way it turned out. I thought about going with SOM, but I wanted something non OE, a little brighter, and I wanted that pop that Kandies have. The addition of the Maple pearl was the icing on the cake. OH yeah, I finally put my splitter on and It looks great(thanks 6litereater).

Spraying more coats of the Kandy makes it darker. Since the basecoat is a metallic copper(my buddy who painted it has pics of just the basecoat) and has fine flakes, the maple pearl, depending on which way the sun hits it, has subtle orange, red, and maroon hue. It really blends really well with the Copper Kandy and gives it more depth than just the Kandy. So I guess makes it look more rich. It's more noticeable in person under direct sunlight.
