Sunroof on a 4th gen??? I'd never done that.... at least not without reinforcing the section of the metal roof he must have cut out.

Is the support beam running down the center of the roof cut ? If not then it will
be an easy fix . If so then its gonna be a bit tougher to fix , But if it was cut you would
have noticed extreme body flexing when going over bumps , hills , etc .

yes it was cut but as i said in a previous post i have an entire new roof to use for parts. no just the roof skin, i have a new "t" bar to weld back in place as well as the skin and headliner. my friend at the body shop asked me to do some research on how to remove the old top/roof panel. any insight?

Do you have a closer up pic?

I have never seen a sun roof on a f-body. . . . . . . . . People do some strange ****. . . .

Does it look clean? Did they do a good job?

If you look at a t-top conversion, you can see that the roof skin is just glued down to the roof subframe. You should be able to tear the whole roof skin off, cut out the sunroof and all its bracing, then use the other roof you have to weld in the new roof rails.

Rip off the roof panel and sun roof..... Weld in the new t-section.... since it would seem it has been removed and then glue a new roof panel on. Done.

Looking at these t-top conversion threads will probably be helpful.

The sail panel replacement thread may also be helpful.

I kind of doubt you will be able to get an entire hard top roof panel off without cracking it.

You can still get the panel from gmpartsdirect.com
