Default so I painted my rear bumper with the new color I'm going with (update - car is done)

so I bought some of the paint I wanted to try...its the summit branded BC/CC paint. (rebranded kirker). Stuff shoots pretty nice...I've shot Dupont and PPG before...

So as a test, I painted the back bumper to see how it layed down. The color is called Carbon Fiber Metallic. Its actually a bit darker than it shows in the pictures

figuring its a race car and all the material came in under $500.00

That color looks great.

I know you said it looks darker in person, about where would it fall between silver and pewter?

Nice...very.

I see a little flake, no?
Would adding a little more flake be an option? I think that would really set it off.

That looks MUCH better than pewter. I've been stuck with two of these cars in pewter (still have one in fact), and I generally hate the color (only nice part is that it stays pretty clean for daily-driver duties). Silver, or any shade of gray looks fantastic, IMO. But the gold-silver mix of pewter is rather unappealing to me. This color seems to be a great upgrade from pewter.

^ I agree. I never really cared for the factory pewter. Always looked more of a champagne to me.

Your outside pics show a big difference between the two. Can't wait to see the rest of the car when done.

I wetsanded out some imperfections, buffed those areas and put my customized wing supports, push/pull switch grommet, marker lights and tag back on...I call the rear bumper pretty much done!
